The Wolf of Wall Street

Yeah I read the books. Jordan Belfort was brutally honest about his own shortcomings in them. A damn good read...and probably one of the reasons I could never make a decent buck in the stock markets lol

It was such a damn good story I bet the movie is awesome

The first book was full of ego stroking mixed with hilarity and apologia which is what made it so great. I hope they show the 'scrumming' scene in Switzerland.

In "Catching the Wolf" he was very regretful of his actions. I hope the movie consists of more of the first book.

ya it's called Wall Street and Boiler Room. One can only hope it's half as good as those classics.

The Boiler Room is the true story of someone who worked at his firm. They hurt the story by omitting the midget tossing, excessive drug use, and prostitution. I still enjoyed the movie though.

Boiler room was loosely based on Stratton oakmont (beforts firm). Loosely very loosely. Almost as loose as your moms box

Saw the movie today. Didn't know anything about the book or his real life training or that it was based on a true story. Movie was okay, had some funny parts but after a while I felt like it dragged on. I was wondering what was the point and where was it going. It's about 3 hours so it kind of lost me. I was going to go see 47 Ronin but it has awful reviews across the board. The movie just got boring after a while.

Funniest part was the cerebral palsy thing

Yeah I was a bit disapointed in the movie as well. I don't think it reflected the depth of Jordan's depravity that I got from the books and it also didnt stress enough about his need and drive to succeed. To be honest the movie was mostly about drugs and hookers. Really didnt get the hustle feel that the book gave.

I give it 6.5/10

Loved the book and the movie. There was a lot of details left out of the movie and they changed the story line a bit, but I am sure it was due to keeping the film shorter. Some real gems in the movie. The masterbating scene with Danny was classic. Pulled a Fast Times, but everyone saw it. Definitely a classic. Will watch again.

Been waiting for this since before they casted the film. Haven't seen it yet, but trailer smelled a bit "Fear and Loathing" ish...

Ignore reviews unless you trust the source. Noticed an online campaign against the film. Citing Belfort did not pay all his fines and some other stuff. So moviegoer reviews (on the extremely negative side) may be fake...the irony.
