:eek7: "Rave" could refer to any hardcore house and techno from the 80s and early 90s but it's not a genre of electronic music unto itself. You just linked to some old school hardcore/breakbeat/early jungle shit. I bought the Prodigy singles on CD before I had my first pair of 1200s then I got into acid house, acid trance, progressive house, techno, etc. etc. None of which bears any resemblance to today's trance and progressive house mind you :throwup:

Although anyone that grew up in the 80's/90's probably hates it all.
 
I am 28 and still go. But I prefer private parties like the ones Fatbat mentioned.. 200-300 people who are there to listen to good music and have a good time not to show off their new [insert brand] hoodie or whatever..
