Really though, are you kidding me? There's people in the UK working for 150 pound ($248) / week, but yet get 800 pound ($1325) / week in benefits from the tax payer? Holy fuck! Is the govt insane?

Best part is, loads in the documentary are complaining. "wtf? how do they expect me to live in this place?", or getting moved from their nice $830/week place in London to a $495/week place in another city and actually complaining about it, all the while not paying a single dime. Worst part is, a lot of the people seem to be first generation immigrants from shitty circumstances, so I'm not sure why they would feel so entitled all of a sudden.

Well, between this and wars, no wonder Western governments are broke.

I know a guy whose girlfriend is on government assistance because she has a "bad back", and gets enough money from that and spitting out kids to rent a reasonable sized house and buy a new vehicle. She claims that she is a "full-time mother", because, I guess for some reason, her having five kids is benefiting our economy, and we should all be happy to pay her for the privilege.

This country has become a complete joke. I met a guy a couple of years ago that had a daughter he didn't even spend time with, but he was getting money for junior college + extra benefits because he had a little girl.

The best part? The money he was receiving was not marked as "only for use at a school." He used the majority of it to buy weed and music production equipment to fund his rap dream.

Never underestimate how many people out there are perfectly fine with doing absolutely nothing with their lives and leeching off of everyone else.

In my opinion these people should be given lobotomies and used for medical research.

I'm from Canada by the way, so it happens here too. She's also 35 years old, and hasn't had a job since she was 21, so this is basically her path in life, not a set back, but her self-proclaimed destiny.
 
How is this anything new? In the USA at least 1/3rd of the working age population has always sat around on their asses adding nothing to productive society.

At least pre-1960 you could claim that the womenfolk were at home tending to the children. Now that we've had both sexes in the work force for about five decades... not so much.

What I'm curious about is where the latest decline bottoms out at. 50%? 40%?

grrr the ones i feel for are the other landlords, we are screwed ethier way!
And its not from the council its the fact they now give the cash to the claimants so that they can be more responsible and then the tenants just spend it drugs and not pay there rent.
