Odesk Minimum Wage now 3.00/hr contracts

Workarounds:

1. pre-existing contracts are grand-fathered in.
2. Fixed-Price Jobs (keep in mind screenshots wont be available)
3. Get the hell off odesk. Anyone have suggestions?

I'm all for paying skilled employees. But not all jobs require skills.

You've been on here since May 2007 and you can't afford to pay your task workers $3 an hour?

Shit.

That's not the problem. The problem is that there's a lot of work that should be done for less. For example: data entry jobs. It doesn't take a genius to enter data. Not a big deal for someone that hires a guy every once in awhile, but if you have a team of 100 people, your employee expense just went up a lot.

Kenny Powers gets it.

I have a 2 kids. My browser has a swear filter. But my personal typing is unfiltered. :p

Fuck, that would get fucking annoying and fucking make it fucking hard to fucking read shit on fucking wickedfire then.

Especially since it doesn't distinguish between shit and fuck, they both censor to !@#$%^&*

I just had to cut half of my workforce and won't be able to take the jet to Cancun for xmas anymore.

Why even bother working through odesk/elance and pay extra fees? Use those sites only to find freelancers. Once you've found someone good you can skip the sites and ask the freelancer to give you an invoice monthly/weekly for the hours worked and then you can directly paypal/wire them the money.

I feel you man - I'm currently in a similar situation. Had to cut half the workforce, which meant that I also had to cut half my spending. Hence I went from double layered toilet paper to single layered toilet paper. Now every time I take a shit, I sit there with the fear that my next wipe might be the wipe that makes the toilet paper rip, exposing me to direct contact between hand and shit. An all around shitty situation.
