Mad Max Fury Road

Yeah too bad it's a fucking feminist propaganda piece. Tom Hardy doesn't even need to be in the fucking movie.

Wait what? Aware me on this shit

inb4 "men are the reason the world is shitty and a woman has to save them lol bcuz wuminz r bootiful n strong xDD"

That being said from the trailers the new movie looked way too "clean" to be a post-apocalyptic film and it's really an issue with most movies and CGI nowadays so for that reason alone I didn't look forward to it.

The plot of the movie and its execution is what I'm talking about.

When the writer of the fucking Vagina Monologues is a consultant for a lead in a Mad Max film, you know that it's fucked up.

Where are you getting that idea? When checking out the reviewers it was very mixed (in terms of movie tastes). The few people that didn't like it were fans of movies like 50 Shades of Grey. If this was a big womens movie push don't you think they would have their marketing strategies reflect that?

I really don't know much besides the buzz on it.

That is fucked up, I did some research. Why would you recruit a radical femchild for a movie that's a postapocalyptic in tone? And what a further surprise, completely

It's clearly propaganda and a particularly genius piece of it in the sense that it's a movie marketed towards men but is supposed to make them realize that "men are violent and you can only achieve peace through femininity". Men go to this movie that it's another piece of engineering to make them believe that women are supposedly as strong as them, but we forget that in fiction we accept what's impossible, not improbable.

If you made a movie in which a man brutally beat and killed women it would be called hate, if you make a movie in which a 100 pound bald woman kills men it's called a "feminist action film".

JTF, the movie is marketed towards men and that's definitely something we agree on. The actual content of the movie, as always, is insidiously unbalanced and aims to add another piece of straw to the camel's back of emasculating western men.

Unsurprisingly, RT gives it a near-consensus "go see it".

Thanks for letting me know, I've stopped watching anything with feminist or homo propaganda. Same with House of Cards also ruined in season 3.

This could be a good thread. Anyone else see any feminist propaganda in movies I need to know about before I watch them? What about Jurassic Park, Agent 47, Star Wars, Mission Impossible whatever number they're at now, Ant Man, or Fantastic Four? Those are the other three movies I'm planning on going to see this summer at some point.

Sorry to break it to you man... but there's females in all of those films. You're kind of fucked. Might as well give up films for good... either that or get castrated. Your choice.

Jesus christ how can you even turn madmax into a feminist anything someone please jackhammer my fucking skull

Same with Halt And Catch Fire...and it only took them halfway into season 1 to fuck up this series.

Feminist dykes at it again. They are putting feminist propaganda in everything these days.

The paranoia is just too strong, it's kind of shocking. This is coming from someone who actually looked into the development of women's movements and the takeover strategies they used since the temperance movement which gave them a lot of political power (recommend to anyone into history since they did some amazing campaigns).

I don't want to sound like I'm on a high horse or anything and I'm a huge fan of Wickedfire, but man this gender-bashing shit is too much lately. While every community has idiots, I would think of WF as the place to contain a lot of people who aren't getting emotional over trends like average people and instead thinking of ways to profit.

Is refusing to see a movie because it's a blatant bait-and-switch emotional? Is refusing to see a movie because you disagree with its subject matter emotional?

But yes, let's talk about ways to profit. It's called the "Tertius Strategy" and specifically relies on pitting two groups of people against each other (sound familiar?) and profiting from the ensuing chaos.

The Tertius Strategy of pitting western men against western women is likely the most genius and profitable use of it ever.

I have no opinion on whether you should see the movie or not actually, its you and others recommending I don't see it. I simply entered the thread asking for a user to provide proof on why -- which maybe you can help with?

All I've been offered as proof is Tom Hardy is in it and Eve Ensler was a consultant for some work. I don't think those reasons would be enough for anyone to change their mind.

Am I the only one that sees a lot of parallels between these crazy neckbeards and feminists? Neckbeards grouping feminists and New World Order and feminists thinking the patriarchy is going to dominate them at every corner.

(not calling you a crazy neckbeard Muad'dib, not even sure where you side in the convo. just what has been posted here in general recently and my frustration towards it)

Later in the movie, we encounter a matriarchal society of badass older women who provide deadly sniper fire and heirloom seeds. Naturally, it easily passes the Bechdel test, although one of my favorite conversations among women is technically "about" men, when an older woman discusses her ability to only use one bullet per kill.

To kill, I should note, men.

It's two hours of bad guys in souped-up vehicles trying to run down the motley gang made up of Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron), Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), and five tough women trying to escape their lot as "breeders" for the foul tyrant Immortan Joe.

Basically, the movie's plot is this and stop reading if you want spoilers.

Furiosa breaks out "Max" and other women to take them to a utopian matriarchal paradise (the premise itself being ridiculous since matriarchal societies just don't work). It's just a "men are bad and women are great" movie, which I don't want to go see. It's also a huge bait and switch, since the movie isn't really about Max (who is in a muzzle for the majority of the movie). It's about the female. Which is great if you want to see a movie about that, but for people like me who loved the old movies it's ridiculous.

Am I the only one that sees a lot of parallels between these crazy neckbeards and feminists? Neckbeards grouping feminists and New World Order and feminists thinking the patriarchy is going to dominate them at every corner.
There's two sides to the convo, neckbeards (aka MRA's) and whiny children (aka feminists). You're right, they're ironically extremely close in their actual belief systems. All you have to do is replace one enemy with another and they're identical! It's why political beliefs aren't a spectrum and indeed a circle- I recall reading in "The True Believer" that Communists and Fascists viewed each other's followers as prime candidates for indoctrination. At the end of the day, they're all fanatics.

Ha, you're fine.

It's not a real use of the Tertius strategy because that requires some level of equal strength between the two parties to keep the conflict going. Western women are being given an overwhelming amount of power because they'll never be able to use it to challenge the ruling class. Instead, western women are using this power to keep the majority of western men in a position where they will not be able to challenge the ruling class. It's still exceptionally profitable (and adds tremendous security), but just in a different way.
