Balancing School and Business

School and degrees are important, but making money comes first. If you're not interested in going to school or your current topics, it's a waste of time/effort to force yourself since the desire to learn is critical to acquiring knowledge. If I were you I'd consider changing curriculum to something that's more closely related to the business, or I'd arrange to take some courses online so that schoolwork can be accomplished at your own pace. You can always take a break from school and revisit it after you get your priorities in order. As to the standards of society, people place more importance on someone who is financially successful than on someone who has a degree. Having both would be ideal, but people are much more interested in knowing how to get rich.

That is why you diverse my friend :D. Buy some website and start getting adsense + cpm income. Now I have half from IM and half from my websites. That way I don't get burn as easy. School is important but not at expense of my get rich venture.

As supernova said, we can always go back and the worst case scenario I lose all my money, I'll just stay at my parents house and go back for my degree :D. Unfortunately no one knows how the internet is going to turn out but this time around, it is best to get ready for the next internet boom and get rich while we can.
 
Yah school is my second interest right now. My GPA has slipped but my ROI has skyrocketed. And in the end the importance for me is ROI > GPA.
 
I dropped out of school to do internet full time, and to tell you the truth I couldn't be more happy, I'm making 10x what I would have made if I would have got a diploma and I'm working for myself. I have enough cash and investments put away to last me a long time and I'm starting to get involded with traditional brick and mortar companies so I'm not really worried about the internet bottoming out.

However, I wouldn't suggest to anyone that they should do what I did. School doesn't last that long so you should probably finish that first while doing IM on the side. Once you are done school you should be able to make the jump to full time pretty quick.

I have been insanely lucky when it comes to business and for every person in IM with a story like mine there are probably 10,000 people who didn't make it.
 
I was in college in mid to late 90's...damn that was a long time ago. AM was just coming around, but I was forced to learn webdesign quick, since I took a freelance from a professor after I said I could build a site for him.

While college was a great time, and I do miss the fun we used to have, the actual class work wasn't important. What's important is the way you learn to look at problems, and the great friends you meet.

Whatever the price was of my college education, it was definately worth that. You need to balance having fun, making some money, and doing decent in school.

FYI: None of the engineering firms I interviewed with ever asked for my grades. They just want to know that you were able to make it through school, and you're a good guy to work with.
 
Education is priceless and lasts forever. School is a fucking waste. Proof: people who went to school and equate "schooling" with education. Nothing but brainwashed masses.

Whatever you end up doing, you should be a 100% behind it. If you think college is a waste, drop out, and focus all your time and energy on affiliate marketing (or whatever it is, you are doing). If you value the degree, do attend some classes and do try and pass the modules, so you get a degree.

I decided that I would like to have a degree to show for the time I spent at college, but I also hated my former college. So I moved to England, and I'm finishing up here. I also got lucky with my schedule, I only got 2 1/2 days of classes and Friday through Monday off, so I've been able to continually work on my business and increase my income each month :)
 
Between making money and having lots of pre-teen sex hmm..decision....
The answer is so f**king obvious.

































Hire an offshore dude to run your business, and drug your female classmates with the income!
