Old posts automatically close?

Quick stupid fucking question. Why do the old posts close? I just went to update the Fantasy Football thread (now that we're in the playoffs) and I can't post on it.

What's the story there mods? Is there a rhyme or reason for these things to close? Doesn't make much sense to me.
 


I wonder if it's because of all those fuckers that come in here to sell something and start doing mad post bumping. This way they're just forced to do it on the ones in the last month (which is still pretty annoying) instead of from the beginning of wf time. What a freakin mess that would be.
 
also, whats up with the nofollow in sigs? that's fucking annoying when you have the SEO tool plugin going in Firefox
 
Sweet dude, thanks! Didn't mean to get it re-opened, it just hadn't really occurred to me that the older posts would go to sleep.

From an SEO point of view, do the older "locked" threads get indexed and therefore you want to leave them as they are? I guess it's probably more to keep the douchebag ebookers away, huh...
 
one incident did it. Some newbie came in and bumped a bunch of year old threads with stupid comments. If you need one unlocked feel free to pm a mod.

haha thats funny, just went and found that thread to post yesterday and was greeted by the lock, btw i own all in FF my public league i joined also suffers my wrath
