Hey guys,

I mostly just read stuff on this forum since i don't have that much interesting to share. Anyway today I found out about this hoax site and thought i would share it with you all. Just seems like a smart trick to get some free traffic. All the designer did is piss ppl off and make a site that pretends to be buying animals for testing purposes.

Anyways here's the link : I Buy Strays Home Page

Smart thinking, that's what I think.

This is the first thing that came to my mind when I read your post. You are trying to create more traffic by getting us interested and check out your link!

Too bad WickedFire members generally don't click Adsense ads. We just waste bandwidth. And unlike Digg, you prolly won't get any useful links from us either.

expected

just the kind of comment I expected :)

There wasn't really a point, besides that i thought this is a good way to get huge amounts of ppl posting your link everywhere. Cause you touch them in the right spots.

No database adding needed, no mass linking.

Sites like that spread like fire just cause of the ethical thing behind it.

BTW: this isn't my site

I remember when I had the "icy hot stuntaz" home page. I was selling like 30-50 burned cd's a day. Damn that was in 2001..

Hi Guys,

Actually, that is my web site. Frankly, I'm please and surprised at how much attention it has garnered. It actually does have a deeper meaning. The Animal Welfare Act allows Class B animal dealers to legally purchase from random sources and resell them to labratories. But that's not what y'all are interested in.

In 6 days since launch I've gotten

80k views, 1446 clicks, and $467

It's SOOOO much easier, when people volunteer to promote your web site for you. I literally only ran two online ads and it took off. Spoofs are good that way. The best is that they're a set piece i.e. No more work on them after you complete them.

If anybody has any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks,

-IBS

Each year, 42,000 dogs are sold to veterinary schools and research labs by Class B dealers, who are required by federal law to buy the animals from pounds, shelters and small breeders and to treat them humanely. However, many Class B dealers violate the law.
HBO documentaries are making me get all sensitive :S

Thumbs up for Stray for any kind of anti-mass propaganda (SP???). Lots of freaks and retards out there that believes in these crap anyway, so why not utilize the freaks and retards to make money?

Even though vet WF members aren't going to click on your ads or link to you, the rest of the regular visitors might, and he might pick up 1 or 2 blog posts from this thread alone.

But dude, why are you only getting icemail to do it for you!?!?! Hire an army of ZOMBIES AND TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

That's some pretty good, automated money in 6 days. Kudos.

where did you run the online ads?

Thanks, 1timedeal. Yes, WF members probably aren't clicking but angry fooled people are. My CTR is almost 2%. Of course, I've also gotten almost a thousand hate mails too. But fortunately, the Humane Society and Peta got the point and have reviewed me positively.
I don't know Icemail but I found this posting on my Google Analytics from the traffic it drove to my site.
Kimbo, I ran the ads on Craigslist (for free of course). The host company I use is NearlyFreeSpeech.com and their RespectMyPrivacy service. Worth every penny.

thx for responding

thx for responding man.

As I said ppl, I don't own this site. And as strays his comment just proved: smart trick to get a load of traffic and free advertising.

btw strays, you didn't happen to run bonzaikitten.com also right ?
Cheers.

@Strays -> you looked like not an idiot. Why not keep staying in this forum and contribute.
