Happy Easter everyone!

For those who don't celebrate Easter is there another holiday around this time of year that you celebrate?

Going to church at the park this morning, Easter baskets with the kids, do some yard work, and BBQ (not much into the work of making a ham dinner today). We have a beautiful warm day. The orange trees next door and my lilac tree are blossoming. I've got wildflowers coming up all over my yard! I can't wait to spend some time outside this afternoon.

Went to Latin (sung) Masses during Holy Week. They were a revelation. Catholic Latin Mass, or the various Christian Orthrodox; accept no substitute!

We struggled this year with the Easter bunny lie again. My hubby wants to come right out and tell our son, I'm not quite there yet. I thought it was all over when my son said, The Easter bunny is not real. And I said, "It's not? And he said no, it's just a guy in a bunny suit that hops around at night and gives all the kids candy in their easter basket.

With 5 kids ranging from 26 to 10, there were always some believers and some not for the Easter Bunny, Santa, and the Tooth Fairy. Everyone in the family knows......if you believe there will be gifts while you live in mom's house. Near the holidays everyone who lives here gets asked if they believe, everyone says "yes" and there are gifts. It avoids that awkward moment of choosing the "right" age.

I knew my oldest knew the truth when he told me if I talked to Santa that I should tell him an item he wanted was on sale and told me at what store!

Happy Belated Easter! I am a Christian and this holiday is very special to me...I do believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus. It's a day of remembrance of how Christ gave of Himself on the Cross.
