Anyone using Apple's Safari browser for Windows?

Like it or hate it more than firefox? I think its better than firefox 2 but just behind firefox 3 beta 5.

Does some things much better than firefox, but seems almost lacking in few areas. I'll have to use it a couple more days to find a winner, but lets hear some feedback.

I am using Safari most of the time. Unless a website is not compatible.

Quite pleasant as experience

is it faster than firefox on windows? on mac os, pages load really fast in safari compared to firefox. of course, ff sucks on the mac.
 
I found it slower than firefox.... I'll have to update the damn thing and try again one of these days. I'll admit i like the look and layout.
 
I tried the first release of Safari for XP, and it refused to render ANY text, whether it was on the webpage, or on the program (menus bars and such). I uninstalled it, and never reinstalled it when Apple tried forcing it on me with the iTunes update.

My Firefox has been having a shit load of issues lately, so I might try again. Is its memory management better than Firefox? Firefox is using 850MB of my 4GB RAM right now on my PC, and I've been too lazy to try and tweak it. Oh, and sound has quit on Flash unless I reinstall Firefox yet another time.

Have you tried firefox 3 beta 5? They included something that cleans up memory leaks, it works much better than 2.

I'll admit Opera does some sweet stuff (I love being able to open and close windows with the flick of the wrist) But it just seemed off somehow. Still a good browser choice.

Yeah it seems faster than FF at loading pages, and it's bookmark system I like a lot more.
 
Safari is fast and looks better, but it doesn't have most of the plugin that is available on FF
 
I love safari, but use Firefox because of all the plugins that I use on a daily basis.

They are both great browsers on the mac.

Cheers for mentioning that! Been meaning to have a look at it for ages. Are 2.0 plugins generally compatible?

I had a quick look at Safari when it came out for windows, looked good but I've become really reliant on ff addons. Same with Opera - use it on my phone and it's great, but miss ff plugins too much to use as my main browser.

What do you guys think of Flock?

I've been playing with it, rather than install another copy of firefox (to have one through proxy and stuff), sure i read that ff addons work with it - not tried yet. The twitter thing is handy and the blog posting could be useful to some people, although bookmarking new post links seems easier and more useful to me.
 
i use all web browsers fire fox opera IE7 and netscape and safari for windows

safari isnt that bad its ok ....

i like firefox the best though cuz the adons that they have!!! t makes things alot easier
 
Not a big fan of flock. They are trying too hard to tie in social networking features. I guess it's cool if you're primarily writing blogs, checking your facebook account and uploading videos to youtube but it's too bloated in my opinion for real use by anyone else.
