Why would anyone on this forum be a democrat??

I am tired of republicans and the taxes argument. I am definitely not for higher taxes. I am a pure capitalist at heart and I believe competition brings out the best in human beings. But with that being said Reagan and thatcher over in england were true free market believers. The nuts you have now in office are the counter argument to that. They don't have traditional republican values at all.

You want to cut taxes, fine but then you want to ramp up the deficit to levels not seen before in the history of man, that's fucking crazy. Somebody has to pay for this. We are in a global economy, that means our deficit is no longer just us owing ourselves. We have huge debts to china and the middle east. You can not be believer of a free market and give farm subsidies which are causing commodities to sky rocket and also bail out so called banks that are too large to fail. The whole purpose of milton's free market philosphy is that the weak should perish as far as business goes. But as long as your filling the right party's coffers then that doesn't happen. And my tax dollars goes to helping them out. But then on the nightly news all I hear about are people in the ghetto on welfare. What about the welfare I funded for LTCM when the government pulled the same shit. What about the welfare I funded when Bush's brother defrauded people in the Savings and Loan scandels in the late 80's early 90's. I won't even mention Mccain being part of that with the Keaton 5.

I don't have a problem with republican ideology and that's coming from a black man in the middle of harlem. Actually a lot I agree with. But these fuckers that are now ruling the party are far from Reagan republicans. And that's why I will vote democrat. I will vote for the lesser of two evils. Don't get me wrong though I have problems with reagan as well but I believe at the very least he believed in what he was doing. These fuckers not so much.

Even if Obama had Rebublican ideas, I still coudnt vote for him because I believe him to be an elitist and racist.

How is he an elitist? WTF does that even mean? He had a very modest upbringing, his family had no money or connections (a far, far cry from GWB). Did he end up going to an "elite" college and law school? Yep, because he is smart and worked his ass off to get there, something anyone here should admire.

As for the racism charge - uh, he was raised by a white woman. And did you even listen to his race speech? That was probably the most politically risky and intellectually honest speech on race I've heard from a major politician. Given his racial background, he is uniquely positioned to speak to the racial anxieties felt by blacks & whites alike. And I think he did that superbly, without making excuses or taking any bait. Try to set the context of the Presidential race and Dems vs Reps aside -- if you haven't listened to that speech, you really are doing yourself a disservice.

I'm not even a huge Obama supporter. I'll probably vote for him if he gets the nomination, but he still has a lot to prove before I will feel confident about that.

I don't care if you vote for him or not, but cheap shots like that add nothing to the discussion. Disagree with his politics, sure. That's fair game. But to parrot the moronic smears of Fox News talking heads is just ignorant.

+ for truth

and your suggestion to get us out of this hole would be?

Can't say I have anything great to say.... other than more of a constitutionalist movement being pushed by the people.

We have the right and obligation to stand up and shout *loudly* when our constitution isn't be followed -- the problem is that more than half the damn people in the country have probably never read it and don't have a freaking clue.

Love the Ron Paul "REVOLUTION" as it's made a LOT of new people aware of their civil liberties and responsibilities of government (and what isn't).

It's true. You can bitch all you want, attack characters, drag them through the mud, but when it comes down to it, whether you like it or not, you've got three choices.

There's no way in hell I want another republican adminstration in the white house. So it's Obama or Hillary and personally I don't really care which. They both have things that I admire and things that make me cringe, but at least they aren't in the wrong party.

I see this often around here. Some dude with his three kids and woman pull into the parking lot of walmart rollin phat in their cady/impala/whatever with the big ass stereo thumpin, big ass chrome rims and hoping all of the handicap parking and space right in front of the store aren't taken cause their to f'n lazy to even walk from a parking space. Get out of the car with their new saggy ass clothes and new nikes, fake jewelry, talkin on their cell and all. Then they go in and use their food stamps. Happens A LOT around here. I have a real problem with my money helping them in any way shape or form.

If food costs go up 20% and gas goes to 5 or 6 bucks a gallon I'm not going to get a nice big raise to cover my expenses. I have a real problem with local, state and federal gov increasing tax rates, be it income, food, real estate, or whatever. I would guess the average employee gets a pay increase every year or two, not everyone. If I get a raise, so does the government since I will pay more in taxes. If the government needs more money they need to figure out how to get more people working or making more moey.

I'd vote against anyone that wants to raise my taxes. They need to figure out how to make do with what they have just like the rest of us.

Just because Fox News isn't 100% liberal 100% of the time doesn't mean their talking heads don't bring good points to the table.

Here's what you do. You take the point they bring up, research it on your own and draw your own conclusions. Sometimes what they have to say is unsubstantiated or loosely substantiated horseshit. Other times, as in the case of Obama's links with a known terrorist and his racist and America-hating friend, the link is pretty clear. Sure, it's stuff you won't EVER see in The New York Times or on MSNBC, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Like I said, Obama has a lot to clear up between now and November, and with something like 1/3 of all Hillary supporters saying they'll go to McCain when she drops, "Obama" will just be remembered as one of the greatest political campaign failures of all time.

Obama surronds himself with racist. His spiratuak leader, his friends even his wife.

I know that I woundnt marry a member of the KKK and accept David Duke as my spiratual leader.

Like my wise grandmother once said: birds of a feather stick together!!

I think we've well established your political opinion to be worthless by now. Feel free to stop posting whenever.

repubs had their chance and they screwed it up. Plus, the restrictions on stem cell research among other things is really pissing me off. If bush cares about preserving life so much why go to war? wtf...

So you follow them from the parking lot, wait for them to pick out their food, decide which bread has the most fiber....then you walk behind them and stand in line.....then you watch them take out their "Food stamps" which typically looks like a credit card that you scan through the machine? Damn....what are you from the FBI or something. If i had someone following me like that i'd punch them in the nutz.

democrats, republicans, independents. does it really matter when there are 50 lobbyists for each senator? almost everyone has a private agenda to line their pockets when they retire to their comfortable speaking engagements, cushy corporate boardroom positions, etc.

just look up caryle and see how many ex US presidents are members. good 'ol billy made over $20 mil in speaking engagements! who paid him to listen to how he jabbed cigar up some chick? maybe he was giving out tips on how to beat prosecution for perjury when he said "i did not have sex with that woman"? what about those whitewater files that allegedly went missing for sometime and turned up in hillary's closet at the whitehouse?

i am an equal opportunity prick. as a registered republican, i really hate the right-wing "neo cons" as much as i hate the left-wing liberals nut jobs.

i know that "power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely." republicans have done a royal job of screwing around; democrats didn't want to serve America, they wanted to serve their fucking "party" by undermining whatever republicans were doing.

at the end of the day, it's not about being an elephant or a donkey; it should be about what America stands for to the rest of the world. yeah, we have our share of faults, but what other country can say they are better than the good 'ol USA? france? uk? russia?

vote with your conscience and let the best "man" win . before you jump on my balls about me being a sexist, let the record show that i would vote for any women, pretty or ugly, big boobs or small boobs, white/black/yellow/red/green or whatever, as long as it's not hillary.

either way, just say "no" to fucking bush or clinton dynasties.

Minimum wage is actually one of the reasons for our economic problems at the moment. Wages in alot of states have went up as high as 17%. This along with gas prices are causing alot of food manufatures to up their prices on the food they produce. The only people I know making minimum wage are teens. Even Burger King pays 8 bucks an hour starting out.

The price of a whopper isn't what's fucking up the economy right now. Minimum wage has nothing to do with the war, the price of fuel or the housing crisis.

Whoever votes republican is a fucking idiot. What these morons don't understand is that with our deficit, we have to raise taxes AT SOME TIME to balance the fucking country.

Excuse my language, but anyone voting for a republican after this administration is beyond me. McCain is either as bad or worse than Bush.

Obama surrounds himself with racist. His spiratuak leader, his friends even his wife.

Oh, and this is in contrast to McCain's pastor who blamed Hurricane Katrina on the sins of homosexuals, or that says we should attack Iran to fulfill a bible prophecy. Yes, that is much worse!

And when has his wife said anything racist? Take your head out of your ass and quit repeating fox news talking points like a dumb neocon parrot.

Even if McCain doesn't directly tax the American public, he will still tax them through inflation. To pay for all of our current programs and wars, massive amounts of money will have to be borrowed from banks, like the Federal Reserve, or foreign banks in China. This increases the money supply and contributes to the loss of value in our dollar. This is why milk becomes too expensive for Grandma to buy every week.

oh yeah, and eventually you have to pay off the borrowed money. This is why the income tax was made.

Excellent point. If we have to raise taxes to fix our economy and deficit (because of borrowing so much money from an illegal war), then so be it. I'm willing to help rebuild the country I love so much and has allowed me to make alot of money and live freely. I am not a selfish asshole who only looks out for myself.

I just find it funny that republicans like to flaunt like they are all patriotic, but want to run for cover when their country needs help.

I'm just going to be honest, everyone perspectives on who should be elected are different, so why continue to fight about "whos more qualified" etc.

Oh ya, who fucking cares?

But we don't have to raise taxes to pay for things.... we WASTE billions the longer we don't live by a balanced budget.

You are willing to raise your taxes to balance things when THERE IS NOTHING STOPPING THEM FROM CONTINUING SPENDING.

Would I be cool with a tax raise now? NO

Would I (and many others) be cool with a temporary tax raise to reduce/eliminate the deficit with guaranteed spending controls in place? YES

To sit passively back and encourage a tax increase with out FORCED change is plain stupid.

Until we have campaign finance reform, term limits, lobbying reform that is good for America, government required to spend BELOW it's means, less entitlement, etc... you might as well just flush whatever your paying down your toilet or give it to nickeycakes :)

These fucking middle red neck pos states. How can we get rid of the people that live there?

If taxes get raised by whoever gets elected, it's just a free ticket for the gov't to spend more liberally (whether conservative or liberal president). We need to do away with both parties, they are all spoon fed brats.

I just think there is something sociopathic about standing by and watching someone suffer or maybe even die because they can't afford a treatment.
