Ahh.. so nice to see the war on drugs working so well

That chart pisses me off. We have enough REAL crime in this country. The police need to concentrate on the violent crime and put this shit on the back burner.

Right.... Since drugs are cool.. and all about peace... Gang bangers don't partake and act in violence while high to make the experience more surreal?

It's all about, "puff puff pass" right? It's all about "munchies" right? That's what you think of weed, it's all just a joke right? Real crime doesn't have anything to do with weed.

There was never a dealer kill a co-op over a connect to get a better deal. There aren't people like that right?

"Yo man, I am so high... pass the Doritos"... That's what you woud like to believe right? Don't think I don't see your train of thought. You think it's all good right? It's just weed man....

No gang banger would want to rape while high to get the feel of the euphoria of control over ones will, right? Those types of people don't exist in the real world.

Hahaha...

Seriously, normally drug related crimes go down when a drug is legalized. They also go up when it is prohibited.

Don't believe me?

All that "gang-banger" stuff was going on for alcohol in the days of Al Capone. Why? Alcohol was prohibited in the United States. Buying, selling and making it was illegal. All this did was to make it profitable for gangsters.
Turf wars broke out over whiskey, people were gunned down with machineguns on the street.

We don't see that anymore.
Has everyone stopped drinking alcohol? No.
Did the government win against all the gangsters? No.
Did the gangsters accept jesus into their life and are living angels now? Nope.

All that happened is that the ban was lifted.

Yes, we still do have crimes done by drunks, we still have alcoholics, but the additional violence, killings and jailings are gone. They just add to the misery.

So you are saying by making alcohol legal all the drunk driving incidents, all the domestic violence due to alcohol, all the "club gun fights" you have here, is not part of the "additional violence" and killings.

All the detox centers, all the AA centers/meeting, all those MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) you have here are in place for those "killings and jailing" centers that you wish were gone.

All those crosses you see on the side of highways are part of that "killing and jailings" you wish were gone.

All those DWI rules, BAC rules, years of probation, thousands and thousands in fines... are all just because those "killings and jailings" are gone.

You are saying since nobody is actually killing anybody over a sale of alcohol that everything is better right? That alcohol doesn't have a side effect on an individuals bad judment or violent behavior? It doesn't matter that it is a chemical that can make people act how they normally wouldn't, rather violently or promiscuously spreading AIDS not giving a fuck that they don't get tested since they are always drunk and it doesn't matter to them.

As long as it's legal, that has solved all of societies problems?

As long as I don't commit a crime over alcohol due to it's being illegal is all that matters?

There is no such thing as a "cause and effect?" Since it's legal, all common sense is gone?

It really is ok since it's legal. I might drive drunk home, might kill somebody, if I do make it home, I might end up breaking my wives nose over an arguement.

Although as long as their isn't a "turf war" things have really changed right?

Do you not see those killings and jailings are still here but found a different avenue?

In other words you could say from it being prohibited you wouldn't have a MADD organization.

You don't have a friend who's sister was killed by a drunk driver, right? You don't drive on highway 183 to work and back everyday and get flashbacks from those days?

You wouldn't hear about your mom getting slapped every night since your dad had "one too many beers".

You just live in this perfect world and you truly do believe that since it's legal and there aren't any turf wars that everything is ok.

As long as you or anyone you know doesn't have to experience that shit it's all good to you right?

Actually, I did not say any of that.

I am here trying to point out the futility of drug bannings.

Seriously, the US had one failed prohibition and well over 3 decades of the "war on drugs".

Has anything changed to the better? I doubt it.

We need to become rational thinkers and let science, numbers and plain common sense guide our actions. not fear mongering, "higher morals" or any other BS.

Sex and drugs are two of the hardest things to ever discuss, not only because they are in themselves difficult topics, but also because they are topics that make people uneasy.

Obviously, our old reactions to the topic of drug use and abuse are not leading anywhere.

So we need to take a deep breath, take a look at the facts and think.

And you are wrong if you think that I have "no bad experiences" with anything drug related.

I just will not spill them here.

From my experiences, though:
People who become seriously addicted to a drug (any drug) have a lot, a lot of problems. Jailing them does not solve any of those.

Going on to imply since the law itself made alcohol legal that basically the problem is the most concern to you "turf wars" are gone.

Meaning you have no idea what really people go through with and placing your weight on "legalities".

"We need to become rational thinkers and let science, numbers and plain common sense guide our actions. not fear mongering, "higher morals" or any other BS."

What you and many "wannabe hippies" don't understand there is no "WE".

There is WHITE AND BLACK.

There are people who are fucked up. There are people that are exposed to this who shouldn't be.

That's what you don't understand.

You don't understand that rational thinkers and science is all good and well in the "NERD WORLD". That is not all reality. People always have and always will get fucked up around this shit. Legal or not.

Do you want the U.S. to turn to Amsterdam?

If you had a daughter you would like her to have the option to be a whore in the red light district? You want people living in a dirty city, you want people calling out names of drugs while you walk down the street? You want your kids to walk home from school with people yelling creative names of heroin to lure them in?

Amsterdam is the only place this is going on and you don't see people exactly flocking there. Yeah for vacations and tourist shit but, they aren't exactly in line trying to become citizens and raise a family there.

I will just let that stand as it is.
No further discussion with you.

White and Black? oh fuck...

::emp::

Jailing them does not solve any of those.

::emp::

In a way it does though right?

It keeps some people away from the chemical that effects them and most importantly their loved ones in negative ways.

Not the best solution. Although sometimes the only solution.

I know where you are coming from. I know it's cool to think that way. I do wish it really was the way. Unfortunately it's not the reality.

I will just let that stand as it is.
No further discussion with you.

White and Black? oh fuck...

Are you trying to say I'm being racist? Are you turning this around since you don't have anything to argue?

I didn't mean it as color of skin... I meant it as Dark/Light. As trying to describe how big the difference in perspectives can be. Satan/Jesus. You see what I'm trying to say? Good/Bad? Are you staring to get it?

I will just let that stand as it is.
No further discussion with you.

Right, that's what I'm talking about.

When you said:

"We need to become rational thinkers and let science, numbers and plain common sense guide our actions. not fear mongering, "higher morals" or any other BS."

If I told you that I've never talked to you liked this but, I am right now since I'm drunk.

That wouldn't persuade you any in your above statement. It's all good since we're not having a "turf war" right?

It's 2:31am here, Had my last 24 oz. of Bud Ice, and I'm going to get my "munchies" and pass the fuck out.

i got fucking ROBBED at a burger king i used to work at (woe was me), and even though NO money was missing int he store, they still told me they HAD to search my van I had at the time. Me getting a concussion from the fight, in my uber moment of stupididty said yes. That yes cost me a year of probation, 1g in fines, and having to tell my dad (semi-retired cop) to pick me up at the police station. Seriously though, fuck the po-lice.

You continue to misunderstand me.
Think about what you just did: You got drunk.

If you had gotten to this exact same state of mind by smoking a joint or two, you could be in jail right now.
People depending on you would need to find a source of income.
You would have a criminal record.
You would have to pay fines and court costs.

Your life might well take a good beating from this.

To make my point clear:
Allowing alcohol and cigarettes but prohibiting other soft drugs is hypocrisy.

Also, I am debating this with the guy who asked around how to get Adderall because he can't seem to finish his projects.

Keep popping those pills and drinking that bourbon.

Agreed. Shit, I'd be in that graph.
I got busted with an eighth summer of senior year.
Well, the cop took a g or 2, so it only showed as being around 2 grams.
Got kicked out of my house, thousands in fees, probation for a year, 30 hours of community service, breathalyzers every other week, drug tests every month. Ended up living with friends for 2 months, lost what little money I had at the time.
Had to drop out of UofM dearborn and transfer to a community college because the girl I was living with's Mom didn't know I was living there. So if she woke up early, I was stuck in the basement until she left, and couldn't get to class.

man that sucks...

you should consider moving a little south... in ohio it's only a fine for possession of up to 100grams... it's like a parking ticket, lol...

I was really just talking about MJ (as that was what the chart was referring to) and no I've never seen or heard of a guy strung out on pot, able to have massive human strength overtaking 5 policeman at time... ack sorry It's too early for me to match your fear mongoring exaggerations.

All that and it was actually WORSE when it was illegal, would you like to go back to those days?

Actually, clownstep came to THIS forum and asked hey, how do I get Adderall prescribed.

Obviously, telling your doc what he wants to hear in order to get a prescription only psychoactive drug is OK in his book.

Well, I have a pretty serious girlfriend still in school here in Michigan, but soon as that(or school for her) is over, California here I come :)
But there's NO WAY I'm going back on probation.

Never knew that about Ohio though. Good knowledge to have.
