I've been neglecting in the keeping good backups of websites. Is there a program that you guys recommend to daily login to a few thousand websites and create a backup of files/folders + mysql database?

Also, I have a desktop & Laptop. I love my desktop. But the laptop gets alot of use too. Is there automated folder sync program. So when I write code on one machine it auto updates it on the other? Anyone use/know of anything that does this reasonably well?

Recommendations besides use google.com?
 


For the code updates, you probably want a CVS system. That way you have revisions, history, etc. Try Tortoise CVS, Perforce, MS SourceSafe, etc/

rsync and rsync.net - extensive instructions and support - I use them
goodsync is pretty good too
 
Goodsync is for everything. You give it a location to backup, and a destination (could be FTP). Then just let it run the background. Mine is setup to sync every two hours. I check it every now and then but it is very reliable.
 
The best choice in my eyes would be to keep backups online - Gnax.net ( Gnax - Backup Services ) offers backup space on their servers for $0.50/GB/mo. Here are the tech specs:
