Is there any "web 2.0" forum software out there?

I don't know how many of you have a yahoo! mail account, but the latest version of their inbox lets you view a message in one pane while your inbox dynamically updates as new messages come in, in an upper pane.

Kind of the way the gmail inbox updates, but a little better IMO. Is there any forum software that does this?

Not sure however this is recently discussed in the Google developer IO conference by using Google Gears, MySpace has implimented the same feature, however the only downfall is that until the browsers become more capable there are only two real ways to do this.

1) The user must have Google Gears installed.
2) Use a custom AJAX solution.

Other then that I've not seen this implimented in a forum atmosphere yet.
