I just did a check for one of my websites on The W3C Markup Validation Service and I got that message. I just want to know if it's important or not if my page is 'valid' from an SEO point of view. If not then what's the point of a page being 'valid'?

The only people who think that w3c valid markup means anything are elitist designer fucks who also read alistapart and think that they can save the world through web design.

To answer your qustion though: It doesn't make an ounce of difference in SEO.

i feel that a small benefit of making them compliant is getting them into w3c directories and such, which are usually pretty good PR and traffic.

Otherwise, I wouldn't waste time perfecting it for SEO

In that sense, isn't Google essentially a scraper site itself?
