So after 2 years of having my eBay account suspended due to shit I was doing way back in the day I finally decided I should get my account re-instated, so I sent off the required paperwork and got my account back today.

So I was board and looking at people selling sites on eBay because I might decide to list one of my own on there just to see how well it would go for and came across this auction.

100 Established Profitable Websites w/ Domain Names LR - (eBay.ca item 330253862711 end time 27-Jul-08 18:46:55 EDT)

Total project cost is under $200 from what I can tell, maybe if they were really lazy they spent at the most $400 to set up this network.

The fucking current bid price is currently $5,000 US with 5 bids.

Its even funnier when you begin to realize that the image states that these sites are profitable but shows absolutely ZERO proof of any income, I bet these things don't even get traffic, all sites have 1 generic fucking theme and are all auto-generated content using some old school RSS Scrapers.

I mean seriously now I would feel bad ripping someone off for $5K knowing the sites are fucking useless.

EDIT: WOW this one tops the list ADULT DOMAINS WORTH A FORTUNE REDUCED $180K ACT NOW WIN - (eBay.ca item 270257331229 end time 29-Jul-08 15:59:01 EDT)

^^^ Yeah sure there good brandable names but come on $20K, I definately see him getting $20K each if they were all .coms but I don't know about that one.

and I thought that 5k for a month of ubercamp was bad. wow. I say we get in on this action! I wish my affiliate campaigns got like 1500%+ roi.

My favorite part is that all the domains are .info, hahahaha.

Yeah and looking at them closely I could not find one that was older then 3 months.

That and I can almost bet that he got them via GoDaddy using the $1 .info sales they usually have.

Wow, I love the 'potential affiliate revenue' table and the 'Adsense revenue' section is a fucking joke. Read the fine print below the image.

Someone is getting royally screwed.

Anyone have a ebay account with good feedback so I can try this? Actually I have to say this is where I draw the line, generally I don't care about my morals when it comes to making money online but I don't think I could just scam someone for 5k, maybe a couple hundred bucks but that is about it.

Edit: I love his user name, "The$Jerk" and the feedback he provides is most likely fake. All he had to do was make some accounts, start up a few fake auctions, then win them himself and leave positive feedback. It would cost you a little bit in fees around $200-$300 to do that, you then add in $100 for the domains, $400 for designs, articles, all that shit, then take $5,000 minus the expenses ($800 on the high end) and he is making roughly $4,200/profit.

this stuff is rampant on ebay sucks for the people buying and thinking they are getting a profiting business

OK, what's keeping us from doing this, seriously? I have had my ebay account since Nickycakes was 10 years old. (I used to sell Mark McGwire rookie cards on ebay back in 1998) No fucking joke. I'm game. PM me if anyone has any balls left to give something like this a run.

Screw the idiots who fall for this crap.

Oh you could do it and make more money then the guys selling this crap but use a fake address, fake cards, fake ebay account, and a fake paypal account so you don't get ass raped.

true,

but make even more with a 'seasoned' account

I was with eBay before people knew what ebay was

1997

I don't even think they went public until like 2000 or something. I lived in the bay area back then and as far as I remember, I think I heard it from a guy, who knew a guy, etc, etc.

I know it can't be hard to make a lot of legit ebay accounts with feedback but seasoned accounts have to come at a premium for sure.

Penny auctions used to work super well to get your feedback through the roof and most of the time they didn't charge you haha I'm not sure if that still works because I haven't used eBay in about 2 years but I'll figure out there new systems soon.

It doesn't charge the buyer obviously just the seller. I think its like 3% final sale fee. So a $.99 auction would be like 3 cent fee, plus the listing fee which would be like $.15.

This just shows how easy it still is to sell pure shit to gullible people on eBay. Like you said, the only thing I would have a problem with is totally ripping someone off like this. I couldn't do that.

But I guess it's a matter of finding a happy median between a total scam and selling something of a certain value - and still laugh all the way to the bank. ;)

The last 2 bids have gotta be shill bids. Heck, they probably all are.

Yeah I've never tried to sell a website on eBay before but I'm going to try and sell my cutesexywomen site there just to see what happens since I've still got money that they owe me, so it will be like a free listing for the 2 year suspension I had.

Maybe I'll report back if it sells for a good price, I've heard of site flippers having good success on eBay before, but sitepoint is still my #1 even though I can't list my site there since its adult based.

ebay is a joke now. They are one sided and only protect the buyer..Did you know as a seller you cannot leave negative feedback for a buyer?

So lets say you run an auction spend $2 for listing inclusion $24.99 for pro-pack and another $5 for reserve price. Your auction sells for lets say $2k the guy decides not to pay, Not only does ebay NOT refund your Pro-pack fees. But you cannot leave any negative feedback. I am not saying you cannot make a KILLLING on ebay but what I am saying is ebay is all about their profits and protecting the buyer. wich gets under my skin because as an ebay seller I am the one making them the money. I am the one paying close to $38 each time I want something listed just to compete with the thousands of other listings. It is much more of a headache to do business on ebay now more than ever. In fact revently I have made over 10k on ebay alone but have had to shut down because of all the BS. Buyers are NOW taking full advantage of the crap loophole ebay put in place with the FUCKED up feedback thing. It is too easy to get fucked over selling anything on ebay now.

For example I have had my ebay account for over 3 years..255 transactions and NO negative feedback until LAST week.

And you know what it was about?

some fuck could not figure out how to access his FTP account.

RUINED a perfect ebay account because he was to big of a fucking moron to get into his FTP. And you know what ebay told me?

" WE ARE SORRY" WE CANT HELP YOU. YOUR ISSUE DONT NOT MEET OUR CRITERIA..WHAT A FUCKING JOKE.. BOYCOT EBAY..

I hear you on that one. I had a really good account going and I was selling wholesale lists. It sounds stupid but there are some people out there that would happily dish out $50 for a list of wholesalers. Then there are others who bid $10 on your auction and get pissed beacuse they thought they where getting a 50" TV when it clearly states wholesale list.

None the less I was banking pretty well and just stated everywhere please contact me before leaving any negative feedback and we will work thing out and refund all you illiterate fucks who cannot read.

Then one day I had some kid who did not know how to open a zip file and fucked it all up on me. The little fucker went and used his moms ebay acct and cc and ordered the list. He knew it was a list and was fine with that. But just because he did not have the knowledge to extract a zip file he left me negative.

Man I fucking hate ebay.
