Last minute ASW questions!

Well with ASW closing in there are I'm sure lots of questions to answer, so please everyone feel free to post your questions about traveling, hooking up, going to ASW, and Boston in general and hopefully someone will answer!

I'm not from a big city [no where close] so I need some things answered!

1. Should I bring a backpack to the conference? I hear you'll get lots of shit.

2. How much does it cost to take the T?

3. How much does it cost to take a cab? How much to tip the cab driver?

4. How should I carry my money around the city? I mean do you worry about being mugged or what not? I can't lose my ID and all that shit so what do you recomend?

5. Will I wake up at the jail for a night of reckless partying [I hope not but may happen]?

Keep adding any questions you guys have, even if it's stupid you never know what someone will miss when getting ready.

No, they should be giving out tote bags to throw shit in. I brought a messenger bag thing last time and it ended up being a waste.

2. How much does it cost to take the T?

$1.70 each time you ride it which includes unlimited transfers. Or, get a 7 day pass for $15 i think. The pass is prolly worth it.

3. How much does it cost to take a cab? How much to tip the cab driver?

Cabs vary obviously depending on where you're going and traffic and such. You're looking at $5-10 for going most places in the city. I always tip $2, but tipping is not necessary.

Boston is one of the safest cities ive ever been to. My girlfriend and her friends walk around some of the shadiest parts at like 3 am going to get food after the club with no probs. I've never even heard of someone having something stolen from them in boston, seriously.
