To all PPC monsters. What kind of credit scores do you have?

I'm pretty sure I have over a 700 but I don't want to check, I heard it hurts your credit score if you check?

im at 720-740, how much you send hardly has any, if any effect on you credit score, just pay more than the minimum balance on all your accounts every month and itll get up there.

its only 5 percent for certain things at certain months. like hotels in jan-april or something. i doubt its 5percent on everything.

It isn't 5 percent on everything, you are right, its 1% on everything and 5% on certain shit.

My credit score is 780. It's been as low as 550 though. If you dispute your negative stuff on your credit reports and get secured card and pay it off monthly ( put it on auto-pay so you don't forget ) you can build it back up pretty fast.

I just started doing this, disputing the negative items on my report - I pulled my free annual report from Equifax and they let me do it online. They made me select a "reason code" (not mine, erroneous, etc.) and I was able to optionally provide a note with each one.

I'm eager to see what happens. They're all a few years old, and holding my credit back quite a bit.

Keep your cards above 30% and your score will jump for more than 10 points in less than a week. Get installment loan and pay it off in 2-3 months, it will also boost your score.
If you want PLUM card, than first get some other business AmEx card, like BLUE CASH, and use it for couple of months. After that they will give you PLUM in seconds.

I spend over 1500/day right now and got a score around 740 last I checked. I still get denied on limit increases on certain cards though. Thankfully I got the AMEX plat card coming so I don't need to worry about that crap anymore.

what do you mean above 30?

he means 30% of the card limit. Lets say your card limit is $1000, he's saying to keep atleast $300 on the card.

I'm not agreeing with what he said though ( not enough personal experience ).

I charged 30%-50% of my card limit, then made more than the minimum payment for a few months. That worked well for me. Check CreditBoards (Powered by Invision Power Board) for some good advice regarding credit

Off Topic: When searching for the Credit Boards site, I accidentally tried creditforums.com. What a waste..

i heard that getting close to your limit is bad for your score even if you pay it off in full. is that true?

Yes, but I don't believe that 30-50% will hurt anything. 75% and up most likely will, and was a factor that my credit score was being hurt in the past. The average usage percentage of people with high credit scores is quite low. There's a FICO score estimator at Get My Score that works pretty well to see what usage percentages can potentially do to your score (last step).

it's over 800

I also own real estate, multiple investment accounts, other assets, have a debt:income ratio that is extremely favorable from an underwriters perspective AND am not 20 (no disrespect- it's simply a length of credit history issue).

I also refuse to ever put myself in a situation in business where my credit is in jeopardy.

OK, Guess my first post will be in this thread. Only because you have some Asshats speaking about shit they have no clue about.

First the optimal utilization is between 1% and 9%. At 0% your score goes down a little. Your score also starts dropping at 10%.

Anything over 30% is bad.

In plain English. If you have $10000 in available credit and have $6000 with a score of 680. If you pay this down to under $3000 your score will go up 40-70 points.

The reference to credit boards is a good one.

WTF, This was not supposed to be my first post. But just thought this information was to important for people to be giving bad advice.
