I believe they exist. Wish someone would shoot one down already though. I'd pay big bucks to see what they find inside the craft.

As someone that loves bleeding edge tech, it always frustrates me when people immediately assume UFO = extraterrestrial craft.
I get the feeling that the vast majority of UFO sightings ARE legitimate in what they claim to be (sighting of an unidentified flying object), but I highly doubt that they're all extraterrestrial.

And for the record, I DO believe in intelligent aliens. Statistically, the chance of them not existing is much lower than the chance that they do exist. I also believe they're intelligent enough not to bother coming here.

m0rtal: Is it my imagination, or did a TV show (I think it was a FOX one) get sued over causing someone to have a PTSD relapse when they made out like they were about to be abducted by aliens? Fear Factor maybe?

Couldn't have said this better my self. This is my exact view on UFOs.

I wish someone would finally capture one of these bad boys with more than 5 or 6 pixels of image data. In a world where 6 megapixel cameras are in everyone's pocket, you'd think we could get ONE fairly high res photo.

1K Affiliate: There used to be heaps of UFO sightings in central Australia, until the US Gov admitted that Pine Gap is a backup testing facility for experimental aircraft.
Big surprise... Here we were thinking that those giant golfball radars that had insanely long range were just so we had our own Epcot center.
 
So I was going to wait a little bit so I could find some more information, but fuck it, this seems appropriate.

Back during the stone age, I knew a friend who was too scared to get a computer in the mid 90's, so instead, he went out and bought a WebTV.


Archaic fuckin things, could barely navigate through the interwebs. In order to see links on pages, you had to manually scroll down until the link was highlighted in a box in order to click it. So he was visiting accuweather dot com one day, and, in all his internet glory, was scrolling down the links on the page manually. He noticed an accuweather banner that was mostly blue, probably similar to the ones you see nowadays.

The banner was different though, you had the whole banner, then the TOP RIGHT 1/8th inch or so of the banner, showed a link when he scrolled down to it on Web Tv....so he clicked it. The fucking thing went RIGHT to a weather report over Roswell New Mexico. It was a black page that showed the weather report, didn't seem like it was built like the public was supposed to see it.

Now, i've seen some skeptical shit in my day, but that right there got me thinkin a little bit. Anyone ever seen something like this?
 
I run the SETI@Home project on BOINC.
I got a data packet once that had waves that were WAY to regular in their cycling to just be background radiation. I copied down the packet number and emailed them about it once it was done.
...
Apparently it was just something from a pulsing quasar, and everyone else who'd received chunks from it had been bugging them about it too *sigh*

That being said, folks, if you leave your computers on overnight, install BOINC as your screen saver. You'll be helping to advance a lot of really sweet science in all different fields.
