Whats more IMPORTANT Tags or Catagories for a photoblog?

I have a photoblog that has pictures catagorized. For instance if i have a picture of a tree, then i would post it under TREE, SCENERY.

Should i not use Catagories?.. should i move onto TAGs?

Whats the difference, is there a difference, or is it the same shit, but different word?

**It's good to use both actually. SE's like shit close to the root, but categories allow for more keyphrases, combo of both works best.

Umm both obviously. It is like title and H1s. Just because you do one doesnt mean you dont do the other too.

Maybe mix it up a bit if it looks real spammy. Why not try a different focus for the cats and tags. Like cats are types like brunette or actress and the tags are mostly names and then maybe some type tags

Drake, i like your idea, but also its starting to look spammy if i implement both. I want the blog to be pleasing to the eye. With all the tags and catagories highlighted onto one pic, it will get the viewer distracted.

Is there a way i can make catagories equal the tags?

Like er'one else said, use both. I recommend using them at two different levels. As an example, I use cats at a very high level.

Using your photo of a tree example I would put it under the cat. of nature and landscape. Then I would use the tags to get as detailed as I could 'tree' and 'maple' or what ever kind of tree it is. I'd probably also use a tag like 'Foliage', 'roots', 'tree trunk' , 'tree in a field'. The point being, cover the high level category of the subject with the cats. Use the tags to go after more longtail, key terms.

Definately tags , you can use 2-3-4 word tags this way getting a bigger chance to appear in serps. But yeah Categories = tags I would call them dynamical categories as you add them in time.

Setting > Permalinks > Tag Base

Input something (I use /tags) and save.

Done.

i just found out by myself that i can convert Catagories into Tags in WP. It then equals as the same shit. Win - Win situation.
