So I have set up a website, http://www.goodweightlosspills.com. It has been up for more then half year, but it sent only a few uniques to the seller. This could mean two things, either the traffic is too low, or the visitors can't find the fkin affiliate link. I didn't want the site to look like a simple sale offer, so it's not stuffed with affiliate links and that could be the problem, I'm not sure tho. I have checked my web stats at my host, but I dont fully understand it. There are expressions like: Successful server requests, Successful requests for pages, Distinct files requested, Distinct hosts served etc. Is Distinct hosts served is the number of people who visited my site?
Anyway, I have to do something with the site, and I'm thinking about two possibilitys. Either taking down the whole shit and making a landing page stuffed with affiliate links, or working on the current one (which will be hard because i used a template and I don't really know much about html or php).
What do you guys think? What could be the problem and what is the solution to it?

NO Links in the sidebar, content and in footer. Are you trying to SPAM ?

I'll bite...

1. Get some proper stats software - statcounter, haveamint.com, getclicky.com, even google analytics. Otherwise you are shooting in the dark.

2. It would be nearly impossible for me to buy something from your site if I was trying to. The offers are invisible. Web surfers almost NEVER carefully read a page, clicking on any links. They scan, guess, and leave. If an action isn't obvious, they won't see it. Pick an offer or two. Put them in obvious places with a clear call to action.

It all comes down to promoting what your visitors are looking for. If your traffic is mostly SE crawlers, then it's probably a bad idea to push diet products because that's not what the crawlers are looking for.

If you are getting a lot of bots to your site, you should push things like browsers, bandwidth, operating systems and service manuals cause that's what they are looking for.

Guys, it's the newbie section. If you are going to tear him a new one, at least put in some advice after pointing out that he is indeed a retarded weeboo that's probably going to die in an unrelated car fire intiated by cooking fats (best not to ask, really).
Also, he DOES have affiliate links, it's just that the site isn't a single page lander or even a squeeze page really. He's gone for a "review" site, except that it's been done really poorly.

Zolecool: For crisakes, get yourself some tracking. We'll assume you've already got a google account because everyone already uses some google product or another.
Google Analytics
Go set it up. It looks all scary at first, but after a week or so, it all makes sense, so long as you passed yr10 maths... You passed yr10 maths, right?

Now, make sure that ANYTHING you're linking too offsite is for an affiliate link, or at least is an article containing your affiliate links.
Use a content wrangler and start an ezinearticles account if you have to.
But it's better to keep all that stuff internal, and just have a "source" link to the articles... which you put up on ezinearticles or whatever article site you're using.

As for your reviews, get a content management system going for a start.
When you've got that, don't have all the articles on the one page. Have the latest one, and the others linked by heirarchical links, or a drop down box... Easiest solution: Blog software.
Also, make ALL the article look like the one you put up for Dietrine. You need to be uniform in your appearance.
Header, descriptive text, maybe a one review, a picture of the product, some star ratings, and maybe the price. If possible, see if you can get a free-trial link for the crap.

Now, visuals of your website.
It looks somewhere between a corporate site, a travel site and a couples dating... I don't see fat or thin or exercising people anywhere!
Go to istockphotos, load up $50, find your self some lookers and some fatties that look like the lookers.
Also, consider changing the green for something in a cooler colour tone, like a well saturated purple or a light blue. If you like green, go with a less saturated and more alpha rated green.

It's that old and has only 6 back links? Build some back links. Work on getting it ranked better in the serps. You should see more traffic come in. Traffic won't be worth squat unless people can find that they are looking for etc,.. Doesn't look much like a diet site.

CTAs CTAs CTAs. Your site is bald. From all of the responses above you obviously know you need tracking by now. May I suggest clicktale....after you use it you'll see just how much your visitors DONT read. Especially if your niche is weight loss, you need a lot of visual motivation for your visitors. Six months is way too long not to make a single sale/lead or what have you. Link those images!

^^ best advice on the thread.

6 backlinks tells me you get no traffic ... forget the stats, forget the content, forget the click thru rate ... build some friggen links.

Thanks for all the advice. I have set up Google Analytics for the site, waiting for the first stats now.
As my site totally sucks, I will study some more professional product sites and build a new one for myself following your advice. I'll try to get some backlinks after.

Backlinks should be an everyday thing. Start now. The sooner you get them the sooner your rankings will go up, and the sooner you'll convert. Good luck!

Write some articles about the products you have on your site and submit them to article directories to generate backlinks. Be sure to link back to your site in the resource box using proper anchor text. Don't just use "click here" for your anchor text choose a good keyword.

Yup I try to atleast build a few backlinks for my sites everyday.
