So far I've had very little success with affiliate marketing. This whole idea that you can setup an affiliate page, page some PPC network for traffic, and earn more than your investment doesn't seem to make sense to me. Am I just going along with the wrong programs or something? I'm hoping that somebody here will share their "honest" experience to help me out a little. Anybody can say they're earning a fortune with affiliate marketing but only a small handful are telling the truth.

no it doesn't work. we all have nothing to do in our sad pathetic lives but dickroll each other all day on this forum and pretend we're rich.

Am I just going along with the wrong programs or something?
i think you answered yourself there.

^^^ damn hannah you beat me too it

You are correct, this idea is false. If it was that easy, then everyone with an internet connection and a credit card would do it and be a millionaire. That might have been how the industry started, but it's not 2003 anymore, and just throwing some scraped keywords into an AdWords campaign and direct linking to the offer isn't going to cut it.

You need to take some initiative, be creative, create a good landing page or even a great website, give people a reason to buy from you instead of the thousands of competitors out there.

Don't waste your time scheming up ways to get people to just fill out the forms, you will get blacklisted from every offer & network in town. Get good traffic by targeting the users that are actually looking for it, and give them some value while you're at it.

Having some healthy skepticism is good, but you need to believe in this industry and believe in yourself or it will never work for you.

Asking a forum full of affiliate marketers if affiliate marketing works is like asking Pedobear if he's seen the skittles thread.

lol guys - look, another moron actually thought affiliate marketing was real.

Yes. Its all a scam to get people like you to sign up under my affiliate links to programs that talk about how affiliate marketing works.

Welcome to affiliate marketing.

By that logic, I guess nobody buys $200 true religion jeans either right? Because those jeans really cost what, $5 to make maybe?

Business is all about making more than your investment.

disagree. this can work quite nicely too if you have the right offer/keywords combo..
in fact with some keywords this approach is actually more profitable AND should always be tested, for at minimum finding an offers baseline conversion rate.
