I'm planning on charging local professionals (lawyers, dentists, etc) for the leads I send them from my online marketing. Only issue is how to track the leads. Any ideas beyond coupons?

Thanks

coupons really are the best way the other would be a "Market Expansion" phone line. Which is basically a forwarding number provided by the phone company to track advertising campaigns in phone books and such.

Why send them directly?

Why not hook up with someone running a call center, get them to pre-screen the calls, qualify them and then sell the leads to more than one professional, after all it makes sense to get more than one quotation for work you want doing, right?

The call center (with your permission) can also do some upselling and you could do a revenue share on any sales, teeth whitening (for dentist leads) etc.

Just a thought

You could have prospects fill out a contact form for a call back and track each via visitor ids, ie: http://www.wickedfire.com/design-de...7-offline-conversion-tracking-prosper202.html

Still trying to figure out a way to allow prospects to call businesses directly though.

If there was an 800# service with unlimited extensions that could all be programmed to go to the same place and notify the receptionist somehow of which extension was typed, each visitor could be shown the same 800# with a unique extension matching their visitor id and tracked that way.

I guess if you have only a small number of campaigns, say, 15 keywords in AdWords you could just manually setup 15 extensions, all leading to the same phone number. Then at the keyword level of AdWords pass the extension in the URL, ie: &ext=100, stick a snippet of code in your landing page to look for that value and add it to the 800# that visitor sees.

Get a different name per client? You could do that for each sign too- I mean, most people may not type out "www.foo.com/trackme.php?id=5" but you could probably get them to type in footrackme5.com.

I know there's some company that uses radio ads and tracks like this. I don't remember the domain though :)
