So I've registered my domain and I'm about to fill out the form to become an affiliate, but I have some questions.
1. I just registered my site so traffic is zero. They want to know how much traffic I'm getting. I've been told that I should lie and give a high number so they'll accept me. Is this true?
2. My domain is awesome, it's [keyword][keyword].com. On the signup form, they ask for my domain name. I've heard that it's best NOT to tell the affiliate where exactly their traffic is coming from because they could steal your methods and give them to bigger affiliates with more traffic = more sales for them and = fucking you over. Is this true? Can I not put my domain name on the form and still be accepted?
Can I be rejected if I don't have high enough traffic or don't list a keyword? My site is a review site specifically to provide information about different products within a niche, and then affiliate link the ones with the highest reviews to the sellers. It will be impossible to get traffic until I have content, and the affiliates make me feel like I can't be an affiliate until I have traffic, so it's like a catch 22.
Thanks.
