Bravo Eli - you have summed up outsourcing overseas in one very concise post +rep (as if you need it lol)

I'd suggest editing that post a bit and throwing it up on BlueHatSeo as a post, would help a lot of folks (plus breath some life into the blog :P)

Bluehat isn't dead! - Either way, I think Eli has done as much as any man can to help the industry. I wouldn't have gotten my start without him, more than 2 years ago. (props to Smax too). Seriously helpful thought. Sometimes we think that simple details that we assume are common knowlege really arn't. Define exactly what you want them to do. I hired a dude from India. I cost me $125 to get him to find a list of dofollow blogs... Enough said... You get what you pay for, but if you are outsourcing your mundaine work be detailed at what you want them to do down to the comments you want them to leave (if it is do-follow commenting). If you are outsourcing a skill, then pay the extra and have the peice of mind. Hire from WF or a reputable vendor (elance).

Suck my dick. Any DP idiot can drop 20 links a day and have them stick. To send me a list of 100 urls that have a single link tells me this Phillipino fuckstain didn't fucking do the job, just scraped a few blogs and threw them on a spreadsheet.

As for your coding, sorry script kiddie, not buying it. Ever hear the phrase "everyone knows who the good ones are, no one knows the great ones." There are 3 dozen guys on this board who do everything you do, and do it a lot better, but you never hear them brag.

You want to bash me for using cheap labor then you say you're going to use him? Not sure if I caught you in between sucking your boyrfriend's dick or not and you're a little hazy at the moment, but can you say hypocrite?

I really dislike retards like you. No one here cares about your gung-ho toughness, except other retards that like to clone wankers like you on this board. Seems epidemic now. Your the kind of person someone works for, for about 2 weeks then quits cause they think you're a slaving asshole.

I'm "bashing" you for being a retard and thinking your going to get the same stuff a $30 an hour good writer/seo born in America would give you. And also because your too retarded to tell a blog comment that's gone to moderation versus a blog comment that's been successfully posted, and then went a head and bashed this guy's thread for no good reason. You've probably killed off half his potential clientele. Well done wanker, well done.

And for the record I'm now using this guy for content creation, I went through 1 or 2 writers and I am happy with the content for the money.

If I may interject with some advice.
So far my experience with vjay has been awesome. Every day he's getting faster and better at the jobs I give him. The first couple I gave him I had to walk him through it like a child and nitpick every little detail and explain everything. It was as if I was doing the work myself, but after a few he started making less mistakes and doing the job better and now he can crank them out almost as fast as I can give him the jobs and his results are near perfect. It's super cheap and my productivity has gone through the roof (although i did miss two days while he was sick which I don't mind at all since I was sick to).

Stick to the guidelines of hiring cheap foreign workers and you'll probably have an experience much like mine:

1. Give them grunt work NOT creative work - I know in advance if i have him edit a graphic i'm not going to be happy with the result no matter how simple it is.

2. No creative writing - This includes leaving comments unless you give them a very specific format such as {compliment the blog}. {ask a question about the post} {tell them you can't wait for their next post}. For god sakes the guy says Sir every fourth word you really think american bloggers are going to approve their comments? *see suggestion 1

3. No foreign ips - Give them a proxy to work through. Many landing pages and offers have geoip and give a different site to their ips so verify that they see the same site you do every time. Sending emails, leaving comments, filling out forms etc anything with a spam filter is probably going to fail for them.

4. No customer service - Keep them far away from your customers.

5. It's all about the details. The first job you give them you need to step through it in super detail. Don't skip anything or assume anything. Don't let the job get by you until it is absolutely perfect and exactly how you want all the rest to get done. Don't let them learn as they go or get more complicated. Just make sure they get it right the first time and they'll stand a better chance of getting it right the second time.

Read through the people who had good experiences with this and the people who had bad and what jobs they required done. If you french fry when you shoulda pizza'd you'll have a bad time :)

Some great info.

We should have a thread as an overseas labor guide!

Unfortunately, I have to say that I gave the guy a chance and he just didn't measure up. For one thing, he toldme a lie.

He said that he was off for a whole week to fix the office. Unfortunately, I just think that he got swamped and didn't know how to handle it. I think it's silly because didn't he think people would read the threads here?
I am going to pay him for one day of work just because I said I would and I keep my word. I really don't have to as I am finding out here he offered people free service - which he didn't to me.

I heard that Agents of Value | Webmaster Outsourcing Services is a good place to find quality, cost effective help from the Philippines. The work that I got was mediocre at best, I am only paying him because I committed to. Unfortunately (for me), the integrity I was raised with causes me to go against my financial best interest some time!

PS
Here is the transaction info:

Amount sent:
-$8.50 USD Fee:
$0.00 USD Total:
-$8.50 USDSent to:
Vicente Jose Leyson
let it be known that I pay for shitty work just because I opened my dumbass big mouth and committed to!

Lastly, here are some tips I would encourage people to employ:
1) Ask the guy/girl you are hiring if they WILL BE WORKING FOR ANYONE ELSE. If they are, and you are fine with it, good. If you are not, specify which hours you want them to work.

If they lie and tell you they are working only for you and you find out they are working for other people - fire them. This guy told me "I'll be working for you to ensure quality", when it turns out he knew he was working for Eli. That's greed. If you really want to provide quality work, just say "I'd love to have your business but I can't as I am swamped".

2) Use a NDA and a Independent Contractor form

3) If you hire a Filipino (I just found two great ones), you should know that in the Philippines, there is something called the 13th month. If an employee works for you more than 6 months, around the end of the year (at least by December 24th) they are to be paid a bonus equal to 1 month.

After I tried the guy out for 1 day about 2 weeks ago, I went and did ALOT of research. I talked to people who had had better experience and did my research. In fact, I found someone who is a graduate of the University of the Philippines and writes English exquisitely!

I told them I'm looking to keep them on long term and they will be paid incentive bonuses plus if they stay on with me, the 13th month bonus.

Lastly, know that internet connectivity isn't the best there. If you hire someone for the long term you might consider paying for high speed internet access for them. Not only will that impart loyalty amongst your employees, it will also help them work more efficiently.

Finally, the only reason I am handling it this way is because I gave the guy a shot to fix things and he didn't. The day he was supposed to resume work, not only did he NOT keep his word and contact me, when I tried to PM him, he went off line - childish right? Of course I logged onto Skype and he was right there.....

Happy hunting for help!

Okay I think its pretty clear that vjay has taken on more than he can chew and is overlapping clients and work to the point of not fullfilling his obligations to people here. Closing the thread and i'll reopen it if he gets his shit sorted out.
