Per a discussion with a member of their sales operation team, Facebook has decided to limit dating ads. They of course gave no notice or subsequent explanation at all to their advertisers.

Are you running dating?

Personally I am done investing major time in facebook. I've decided it doesn't matter what you run, they will probably cancel it within a few weeks, especially it you actually make it work.
 


Yes Facebook has definitely worked in the past for quite a few people.

As for dating, like any other niche that works on facebook, it was a victim of it's own success. Not only was it working for people that took the time to test till they found the right demos, but after the smackdown on all the other niches people flocked to dating because it was pretty much all that's left.

Then certain demos started seeing nothing but dating ads just like the Obama ads. So it was only a matter of time....

Mobile was great too for a while. Now the margins are on par or worse than zip submits because of bid prices and the severe restrictions they put on ads. They basically force you to make irrelevant ads just to get clicks at an affordable rate.

right, so if something works, it will be immediately copied, and it will die, quickly. The more it works, the faster it will die.

Even if you have really tight demo targetting, it doesn't matter. If if you are separately targeting 10 countries around the world, it doesn't matter

Time to go target more sustainable shit on other platforms.
 
Well facebook always tries to make laws that suit the needs of their customers this why IT IS THE BEST.

hmm...I think you mean laws that suit the needs of their USERS. The people that buy advertising are their only customers.

Disagree.
Sale of legitimate tangible products to interested people works well.
Sure, it's not big money, and requires a fair bit of investment in terms of time, but the ads will generally work for themselves after a while, especially if you're looking into the type of audience that aren't likely to be on every hour, every day, because they won't lower your CTR.
If you're willing to invest the time in it, it can become passive. Get enough of them together and it's reasonable income with little to no further work.

Is anyone having this fucked up Billing problem. Click billing and you get Error Code 13.

Or try to create an ad and it asks for a credit card.

edit: of course the minute I post this, it works.

Yep same. I got a new rep who is suppose to be the rep for all "affiliates". Jeff Iden.
 
Another stupid decision by facebook to have one facebook rep handle all of the affiliates. Their ad approval process is horrid.

What else can facebook do to stifle their revenue?
