Last time there was a pandemic in Canada I got to see AC/DC live in concert (SARS).

I for one am buying a bunch of food, expanding on the food stock my dad is already keeping at his place.
Went to visit the GF's grandma in the hospital in Mazatlan Mex today. I'm not sure the actual number, but I heard 20 people were in there with the swine flu.
I gotta get one of those fancy masks though. Seriously.

We have oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir (Relenza) these days. Get hold of them - should take care of it.

We also have much more global travel. And there is a limited amount of vaccines, not enough to treat everyone in the U.S.
Come on guys... To the people not in Mexico, you don't seriously think it's necessary to go out and buy masks and stock pile supplies do you?
There's a reason why the only deaths have been in Mexico... It's crowded, dirty, and the health care is poor. Most of the people who died had lived in Mexico City their entire lives, which means they weren't "healthy young adults". If you live in Mexico City your entire life you already have respiratory problems due to the air quality... So "healthy young adult" in Mexico City does not equal "healthy young adult" in hee-haw-ville United States.
Everyone who has come down with this and recovered (in the US), has made a full recovery in under a week. If this flu really had a 6-12% mortality rate, someone in the U.S. would be dead already.

i went to my aunt house last night (two blocks from st francis prep, which 8 kid got swine flu). Everything was normal..the school was surround by news crew..but other than that, nothing happened
