Holiday gatherings are right around the corner with the holidays approaching. At family gatherings, does anyone else discuss internet projects?

I remember going to family gatherings when I was little, they were SO boring.

I'm glad its different with my kids (5 of them + 2 daughter-in-laws), when it works out to all get together, they all have fun. A few weeks ago I was at my son's, Bob Schmuck and his wife's house. I brought my two youngest with. His wife and the girls baked cookies for her Mary Kay debut party and Bob and I talked about internet stuff. Even my daughters joined in talking about their blog and ideas! I just loved it, from 46 years old (me) to 9 years old (my youngest) the internet gave us common ground.

Can't say I talk to anybody about internet ventures, they get bored very quickly. I never usually talk at all at family get togethers, just sit back and don't talk shit. Oh well

I always talk about my more boring ventures, and talk about how much harder I work than they do (and how much more money I make ;)).

That pisses them off, and they leave me alone.

And how much younger you are :p

Had no idea Bob was your son :) We're on a blog link exchange.

Anyways, my family and I ALWAYS talk about businesses...dream ones, fantasy ones, and plans...but usually never online businesses. My family is still a bit more skeptical about doing online business (since they lived through the .com bust)...but are very acceptable to land based businesses.

Therre is no way I could talk about onlines ventures with my family, my dad is a union boss for the international longshoremans association, my uncle owns a large construction company, my cousin owns a plumbing company, and my brother in law is some dirtbag longshoreman.

For some reason I don't think they would get it.

nobody really understands this stuff but me and my brother, and we really don't bring it up during family time since we talk about it every other time
