My first arbi attempt

Waht would the config file/mysql be for?

For "automating" the process of building multiple arbi sites.

If you have a config file, all it takes is a few quick changes to that file and you have yourself a brand new arbi site for a different niche.

I've tried searchfeed and got horrid results.. well I got a ton of clicks from them but hardly any clicks on my ads.. really makes me wonder if they send bullshit traffic or maybe their quality of traffic is just shit.. orrrrrrrr.. maybe it was the niche, who knows..

Trying 7search at the moment and have about 1,000 keywords per campaign.. havnt had much of any clicks from them.. maybe I should raise my .06cent bid up a bit.. might try that.

But yeah, I say if you havnt tried searchfeed, go for it.. MAYBE itll work for a niche you choose..

I'd honestly work on your template though.. just gotta think, if you were the surfer would you be enticed to click the link.. or click the evil X button

Aha, ok thats kinda what i thought. would it be something like upload keywords and it makes a page with scraped content? would this be in a folder off your domain, subdomain, or new domain?

Don't worry so much about the template. I got a 100% CTR by just slapping some blended ads on top and on the bottom of wikipedia text. Very basic 'template'.

I Do recommed putting a large banner graphic on the top of the page. The banner should illustrate the theme of your website. If you have a fishing website put a big banner on the top of a fisherman for example. This is important because you want to vistor to know immediatly he is on a site that pertains to what he is looking for. If he sees a bunch of text & ads he may leave because it looks spammy and useless without even reading anything.

If you don't have graphics put in H1 tag the keyword on the top of the page. It should stand out. For example
Fishing Information Below

Daveido, I think you should perfect 7search or focus on one search engine for now and then move on. Just expand to different niches and try to test things out. once you think you cant expand anymore, then move onto other search engines. among the second tier search engines, i think(even though i dont know) that 7search provides the best quality traffic...so it's probably the easiest place to begin your arbitrage journey.

This raises a natural question: how does one know what keywords/ads are going to generate BEFORE you begin a campaign?

You don't know. Which is exactly why testing is required. While testing, something I do is I bid according to what other people bid. press the "all" button to see the top 10 or so bidders and see if there is a major drop off point for costs per click. Try to at least be one of the top 5(maybe even top 5 for affiliate sites) but dont ever extend yourself. You also might want to check out the other top sites on that keyword to see if they are arbi sites or affiliate sites or company sites. If there are arbi sites, you know that you dont have to bid too much lower than them(and dont bid too much higher than them). Mainly for the first day or two, you want to get some traffic without completely blowing yourself money wise. This is just my technique, and other people might have better techniques for testing out keywords, but it generally works for me. After 1-2 days or a certain amt of clicks on your site, reevaluate your bids(or pull the site)....then 1 or 2 weeks later, reevaluate your bids again(or pull the site)

hey juniodude, when you say pull your site, you meant to take it offline for a week or 2 so you don't get smartpriced? of is it for a different reason?

no, i mean just pull your website because it's CTR isnt high enough, you are losing more than you are earning, or you are earning way too little(like, it's cutting it too close..something like earning gross income of 10.00 and spending 9.98)

i'm not quite sure what you would do if smart priced, you would have to ask someone else that

So for keywords - do I just want to add every available keyword i can find related to my niche or does it need to be really targeted?

Daidevo,

Try to keep them semi targeted. you dont want Mortgage Scams when your site is for mortgage calculators. know what i mean. but try to add as many keywords as possible. too far fetched and they wont want to click your ads. just what ive learned since i started a week or so ago.

Ok so an update - ive been putting up pages and testing as much as I can. Today Ive made $6.12 but spent $5.16. I'm only bidding .06 for my keywords so Im assuming my CTR is just too low (7.69%). Do you guys agree this is the problem? If so, would the CTR be related more to my page layout or keywords?
thanks everyone, im really learning a lot here and hopefully soon I can help out people like myself.

CTR isn't everything, however. A lower CTR on ads providing you $2/click can work too if you're only paying $0.05 per PPC click. For example:

100 PPC clicks @ 0.05 = $5 expense
8% ad CTR
$2 payout

= $16 revenue

Therefore, ROI = 3800% or 3.2:1
