Not sure if this is the right place but I thought it might be useful to post a short review of Matt Bacak's 'Internet Marketing Dirt News - Confidential Conversations with An Internet Millionaire'
Matt Bacak is a successful internet marketing personality. He seemed to me to know what he was talking about so I signed-up for his newsletter 'The Internet Marketing Dirt'. Cost: $29.97 per issue. There's one born every minute, right?
This is a printed monthly newsletter. Most issues are around 24 pages. The cover is an intro to the newsletter, the back page one of his own ads. There is usually a page of classifieds also. Sometimes there is a 'List of the Month', e.g. '102 CPA Networks', '101 Ways to build link popularity', etc.
A lot of the content is written by guest authors, most of whom I never heard of.
On the whole the content was disappointingly basic. Example article titles:
'The complete lite guid to profitable blogging'
'Practical Article Marketing Tips'
By the time I had read two issues I realised I had made a mistake and so I decided to cancel the sub. This is when the fun began. I could not find any way to cancel or even contact Mr Bacak. In the end I had to fax a letter to Visa and they are manually contacting him to cancel the sub!!
Many lessons learned for me! not least of which is how to con people out of €30 per month with poor quality information.
