I come to you today to shamelessly plug a petition on behalf of the people of mainland Europe, who are part of the trading bloc known as the E.U, which was meant to tear down the barriers between trade in the region. This has happened to great effect in some industries - in others, things have gone the other way.
One of these is the gambling industry, where laws are far from standardised throughout the continent. The British may gamble on just about anything with just about anyone, whilst the Dutch are limited to bets on the horses through the 'state' provider, and the French limited to French soccer and Horses through their provider. The Norwegians won't even allow visiting soccer teams to promote rivals to their state company. Obviously - this is wrong, and infuriates punters (what us British types call those that like a bet), pro gamblers and bookmakers alike.
