Hi guys

What's the best hotel to stay in for ASW and where's the crowd going to be?

Haven't made it to Vegas before so I'm fairly clueless about where to book.

The show is at the RIO but most people stay in other hotels, the palms is popular for the ASW crowd.

used to stay at any mgm property free from gambling alot but last year I stayed at another hotel and was a pain to coordinate between all the guys here so I think we are all staying at the rio this time, I already booked a masquerade suite but I can canel if plans change.

I think the Palazzo and the Venetian are the best. Their rooms are sick, they are all suites, so you get a bed room area and a living room area for the same price that you would just get a normal room at another hotel on the strip. Regardless of where you stay, you can go gamble/hang out anywhere, so I always stay at Palazzo now.

A lot of us are staying at Circus Circus. Really nice rooms for any price and some of the best odds in vegas. A lot of really cute college girls and great nightlife.

yeah but at asw who actually stays in their room the majority of the time? I mean come on I'm just getting a huge as suite for the write off. Last asw i slept maybe what at the most 4 hours a night, and spent a total of 5 hours in the room of which 4 hours was sleeping. Its all about the parties, networking, making new friends, hanging out, swapping stories, and pulling ricardos......

Out of convenience the Rio... Although off of Flamingo you also have the Palms which is a stones throw away, the Bellagio, & Caesars.

If you're feeling prodigal and are looking to splurge and indulge yourself in the luxuries that are Vegas... two words - Gold Coast

Dude, you're ridin the short bus and you don't even know it!

C-C is white trashville.

Dude, come stay at the Palms or Rio, not 1000 miles down the strip!

Yeah I definitely want to be close.

Don't really plan on getting a huge room as I won't be there much anyways. Sounds like the Rio or the Palms would be the most convenient.

the conference is at the rio but i prefer to stay somewhere on the strip. I think this year I'll stay at planet hollywood cus it has the shuttle that brings you to the rio every 15 mins right at the entrance and when all the partying is over I can wonder the strip and get mo drunk cus its right in the middle of the strip. Last year I stayed at bellagio which was cool but had to take a taxi to the rio every time which was kind of annoying.

If I were going to Vegas (which is dubious), I'd be looking for a hotel that has free Internet access. The hotel I stayed at in 2004, the Luxor, had expensive optional Wifi and I was not pleased. Internet access could be bought on the strip for about 25¢ a minute in those tacky souvenir shops.

In general, I found Vegas to be a place where you get gouged for everything, like the above. Luxor had a few things in the hotel that were worthwhile exhibits, like an archaeological dig reproduction, but they charged about $15 extra to see it, even if you were staying at the hotel.

Perhaps things have improved due to the economy and the need to attract more visitors. Staying in a hotel around the corner from the strip is cheaper, and you aren't particularly inconvenienced. They also tend to include things like free Internet.

quite honestly i like staying at the conference hotel.. just makes things easier. I happened to really like the rio last year too.
