For you PPC pros making $1K/day or more, check me on this:

Assumptions:
-Payout $25
-Ad CTR = 5% (I'm not getting this but I figure top guys are)
-CPC = $.40
-Clicks = 1,250
-Ad spend = $500
-LP to advertiser CTR = 25% (swagged this)
-Advertiser sales page impressions = 313
-Conversion = 5% (seems high but maybe LP gets to this)
-Sales = 62
-Gross sales = $1,550
-Net sales = $1,050

So if you derive required impressions from this example, you need 25K impressions _per day_. That seems really difficult to achieve based on what I see for impressions and estimated search traffic around KW's.

How do you guys get that much scale? Media buys?

Thanks --

Why don't I wire you the money? I think that is much easier.

It depends on your niche, but 25K impressions isn't much at all. Heck, I got 800K impressions on a content network campaign that only cost $300. (Which, of course, means my CTR was shit and the campaign was unsuccessful, but the point remains -- in PPC, driving a ton of impressions is not hard, especially if you're willing to shell out more money.)

Broad match & content network will both give you more impressions than you know what to do with; the trick is turning them into clicks & conversions.

Thanks for the insights --

That's a nice breakdown. And yes, the content network can get you those impressions (although a 5% CTR on content is a long shot). Either way, you should plug in all that data into an Excel sheet with formulas and then play around/modify the numbers once you get live stats. No doubt it will be a different scenario than what you expected but maybe conversions will be higher, while CTR is lower, or maybe impressions will be double, etc. etc.

Again, good start though. Always work backwards from your target and break it down into individual components.

Thanks, that's how I'm working it -- have a spreadsheet all set up that I use to model scenarios.

Reminds me of when I was a newbie daytrader back in the day. I had this fancy spreadsheet that showed that if I just averaged 1/2% ROI per day, I'd be a billionaire in something like 3 years.

Dude, delete the spreadsheet and start testing shit! All your numbers are meaningless.

Right, I am doing that, testing like crazy and seeing what works. Also tracking everything closely so I have a record of the numbers.

christ. none of these numbers matter. they are all fictional until you do something. stop fucking around with your stupid calculations.

Jesus. Come on guys, there's a newbie section. You newbs do realize that if you would just post these sorts of questions there, people would be alot more forgiving.

In theory anyway.
