Testing To Make Sure Rebills Are Paying You

Hey guys,

So I setup a new campaign that did amazingly the first day... or at least should have.

Farticle style, sent over 100 clicks to the advertiser, obviously very targeted.

Usually that should convert at 8-10% conservatively.

However, nothing. No conversions at all.

Wtf?

So I decided it was obvious I needed to test it myself to see wtf was going on, so I went out and bought a Visa Gift Card to buy it with. (Hell if I was going to put my actual card into a rebill.)

However, I go home and try it and the card won't get accepted. Did I waste my money on the gift card? How do you guys test the offers yourself?

Thanks.

I was rotating offers as well, I forgot to mention that. I had 3 offers going through, the majority going to the first one because of reasons I won't talk about.

But the spread was like 75 on first, 20 and 20 on the others. Nothing. It's a good idea to test them yourself anyway... that's what I'm trying to figure out here.

I believe I may have read somewhere that most continuity programs do not accept VCCs, debit cards or any types of gift cards. They only accept real credit cards.

Of course they'd do something that like. Damnn.

Thanks for the info... I'll just have to bug my AM some more.

LotsofZeros is right. The fraud protection against gift cards in the continuity space is pretty impressive. We use a pre-auth along with a couple other methods (trade-secrets :)) to keep them out of our offers.

In addition to that, 100 clicks doesn't really mean too much. Too small of a sample to draw conclusions. Stick with it and gather a bigger sample unless you think something is truly fishy.

Thanks for the constructive answer, Lindsey. Always love hearing from an actual advertiser. AM said he can cancel rebill asap on his end so I'll be doing that.

In 100 days of sending 100 clicks per day to offer that converts on average 8% you'll have a few days with 0 sales.

Hey guys,

Usually that should convert at 8-10% conservatively.

Is that a 100 clicks through to the actual offer or the farticle? If you could get your farticle to conservatively convert at 10% then you'd be one rich fucker.

It was 100 clicks to the offers.

There was definitely an issue though I ordered it myself and didn't get credit so there's scrubbing afoot.

Why spend so much time worrying about it when you can just switch to a different offer? There's tons to test. If they are scrubbing then stop sending them free leads.

Exactly what I did. That offer is out of my rotation. I just wanted to rule out that it wasn't an issue on my end.

Dude, people keep telling you that even that 100 clicks is too low, moreover it's not 100 clicks per offer, your max was 75, rest was 20 and 20 which is total wasted BS.

Rotate/add current offers a bit more - if not working out go and find another offers.
