The more I watch it, they did turn pretty fast (forget my old grandma comment), but there is no way in hell they should have ever attempted that turn, even if the cop was going 45mph. They started their turn when he was like 100-150 feet away. They got hit about 1 second after they turned and at 94mph, that's about 140ish fps. Cop is still wrong though, but I think that living with their death on his conscious is punishment enough.

Let me give you a reality check. You go be the cop in that situation, in your car. Exact same circumstances, maybe they DO turn late. Toss $500k at a defense lawyers and tell me you'll get off doing NO time for manslaughter.

94 miles an hour and surface streets. You call that whatever you want, but "right" or "legal" isn't it. Oh it was just a 'momentary lapse in the officer's oehterwise good judgement?' Fine- lots of people have snapped and killed people in 'momentary lapses in judgement' - they might get murder reduced to a lesser charge but they're still going to pound me in the ass prison.

Whether it's you or I who risks that and rolls snake eyes or a cop we wer all breaking the law. He doesn't get it get off with "just living with their death being enough" because he was an irresponsible douche.
