Psychotic EPA Declares Carbon Dioxide A "Pollutant" And "Threat" To American People
I know Refrozen already had a thread about Climategate, but I felt this deserved its own thread. This is a truly insane leftwing decision. They're really getting brazen with their attempts to put a chokehold on the American economy with exponentially growing 'regulations'.
Obama has ordered the EPA to declare co2, a gas emitted by humans, to be a 'pollutant' and a 'threat to American people'. Who's ready to pay their fine for breathing?
You libs better wake up and smell the socialism. Obama's slaughtering this economy based on totally manufactured propaganda, and their strategy of Marxist incrementalism is paying huge dividends. But this is a huge move. To actually have a government agency declare that a gas that is VITAL to our economy, to our energy systems, to our infrastructure, is a pollutant - based on the shoddiest of science, is a travesty and borders on the criminal. The Left is trying their damn hardest to get their statist hands on the throat of what remains of our free-market economy.
Expect tons of regulations to emanate from this ruling. More fines, more standards, more regulations, more taxes, higher prices, less purchasing power, etc... This is a totally psychotic move.

The Obama administration has announced that rather than wait for Congress to act, it has authorized the Environmental Protection Agency to move forward on enacting new regulations on greenhouse gas emissions emitted from hundreds of power plants and large industrial facilities.
WASHINGTON - The Environmental Protection Agency
took a major step Monday toward regulating greenhouses gases, concluding that climate changing pollution threatens the public health and the environment.
The announcement came as the Obama administration looked to boost its arguments at an international climate conference that the United States is aggressively taking actions to combat global warming, even though Congress has yet to act on climate legislation. The conference opened Monday in Copenhagen.
The EPA said that the scientific evidence surrounding climate change
clearly shows that greenhouse gases "threaten the public health and welfare of the American people" and that the pollutants — mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels — should be regulated under the Clean Air Act.
