Long-Term, Stable Wealth Strategies

You could make the 4.5 million if only affiliate marketing was actually real. The only people who make 4.5 are john chow, zac johnson, and john reese. I hear they also ask for financial advice on message boards and it has worked out fine for them.

Yeah, I bet they manage to make $4.5...

Although this guy is clearly either trying to be a baller or just fails at life for asking how to invest 4.5 million hypothetical dollars on a board full of gay webmasters the question is a solid one.

It isn't any secret that the landscape of the internet is changing. Look at how many people shit bricks over the whole Wells Fargo thing that turned out to be not such a big deal (que the oh noes pictures).

Sitting on your monies, or spending them all, when you have no idea what will hit the industry next is simply stupid.

I put as much as I can away while still being able to live the life, at this time, that makes me happy. Into silver, gold, stocks, and real estate. Things that will last longer than the golden age of internet marketing.

This year one of my resolutions is to expand out of IM and make more through offline things like the stock, commodities, and real estate speculation. Things that are much more fun and connect you with people in much higher tax brackets that you can learn from.

Everyone here pretends to be such ballers working all day, every day to buy that Bentley or Rolex. But how far into the future do you really look? There is a whole different world outside of internet marketing where the money being made makes our money look like nothing.

Also going with a financial advisor, unless you have any real money to invest, isn't a great move imo. Chances are by picking up a few books you can learn more about the markets then they can and chances are, to get to where you are now, you've learned more about business and have a higher financial IQ.

Anyway rant done now go buy a fucking goat for some African to redeem all of your fails.

My personal long term wealth strategy is real estate.........lots of it.

An annuity is great, however the returns to me are still too low , a good real estate investment should easily be 50% per year and after 10 years should pay off the original mortgage.

I would invest it all in ebooks. Just think of the return on investment if you buy a shit load of ebooks that will each show you how to make 1K a day.

Just something to think about.

that's what i like to hear. :)

IM is just one of the hustles. in general, it has a lower $$$ barrier to enter. are there any other people out there who are currently using IM as 'just another income stream'?

thanks for all the response so far.

FTC-Hater, this is for you ...

There is/was no golden age of Internet marketing. It's just as easy to make money online today as it was 5 years ago, and it will be just as easy 5 years from now - or 20 years from now. A good marketer will be able to make as much money as they want online for the rest of their life - unless the Internet disappears.

If other things are more "fun" for you then great but there is no easier, faster and less risky way to make money than on the Internet. Period. For those that know their shit, Internet marketing is 100% risk free (yes I said 100%) and that's HUGE.

If you want to make more than a few mil a year then yes you will probably have to start some kind of "real" Internet business and not just do CPA stuff sitting at home by yourself, but it's no different offline.

I've saved 90%+ of my affiliate income and hope to pretty much stop having to work for money and just do things I enjoy as soon as I have enough saved.

Right now I prefer liquid tax-free investments because I want to have the money ready if I ever need it for scaling a huge campaign and because of my income and location put my marginal tax rate at about 50% making taxed investments less attractive.

California tax-free bonds are returning a little over 5% for me and it's completely tax free with very low risk.

Long term I'd probably go with a mix of RE and bonds.

I was going to write a long reply as to why things are getting more competitive, the cycle of free markets to semi-government controlled markets that we are now entering into, legal problems, and why things will not always be so easy to monetize like they are now.

But that would be going against my new years resolutions of arguing on WickedFire less, getting paid more, getting laid more, and partying which I am off to do later tonight.

If nothing else having physical assests is nice. I rub gold coins and silver bars all over my naked body every morning. You can`t do that with websites now can you!?1?

This stuff only affects lazy affiliates promoting shady shit in shady ways. I said "a good marketer".

If anything, "competition" can help a good marketer make more money, in several ways.

A smart marketer will usually avoid putting themselves in a position where government regulations can fuck up their entire business, or at the very least they have backup plans and workarounds to deal with it if it happens.

Good marketers don't really sit around worrying about "Legal problems".

Good marketers can always monetize shit. I can sell ice to eskimos.

Sure. You could just find it in the street. Hell, I think 4.5 million fell out of my pocket at the strip club once.

That would be luck. I don't base my life-changing business & personal decisions on luck. ;)

$4,500,000 is just a symbol, numbers, and commas.

You share your plan to scrape together $4.5 million and I'll tell you how to invest it properly for only $500k.
