Not Appropriate for Young Viewers???

Well, could it be because of some dramatic content and not specifically the subject matter? That's my guess

Either way, thanks for posting this, I wanna check it out because I fucking love NOVA.

man, this looks freaking outstanding.

It was pretty good. They have this great part where they build up to how many protein coded genes we have (which was tallied, I think, in 2002?)...I mean surely because we're soooo evolved that we have more than all the species on earth. Turns out we have as much as a chicken. I got quite the chuckle on that. OH and less than an ear of corn. Can you imagine the utter deflation of the egos when they realized that?

What do you mean what Darwin never knew?

<sarcasm> I thought the theory of evolution, in its entirety, was delivered to us in atheist manifesto form 150 years ago in unchanging format? </>

I gotta check this out. ;)

OH and less than an ear of corn.

Weird tangent but the co-evolution of corn with human beings is really interesting. The book "The Omnivore's Dilemma" [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Omnivores-Dilemma-Natural-History-Meals/dp/1594200823]Amazon.com: The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals (9781594200823): Michael Pollan: Books[/ame] goes into detail about how basically corn threw in its lot with us, this worked out very well, and as a result we are all now basically walking tortilla chips.

watching the "natural selection" part of this and all types of animals getting eaten, I'm pretty sure thats why there is a warning, its fairly graphic.

LoL, after watching Food Inc, you'll probably be checking bottled water to see if it has any corn in it.

We live in the bible belt, nuff said

You have anyone in that area, that claims that we never evolved from apes, but rather those fallen form god, devolved into apes (ie: as they were claiming black people were further from god, as such they had darker skin and more 'ape-like appearance').

First time I heard that theory I was like ... someone castrate him please so we don't pass the stupid gene into the gene pool.

That's true there was that small section. I do remember feeling a little sad at that.

Well if that's why (although I'm not entirely convinced) then I take back my rant at PBS.

They'd save a lot of trouble, if they clarified like on some other shows (ie: 'Adult Language', 'Violence', 'Frontal Nudity') etc. Course if they did mean the subject nature of evolution, they should have put 'Conflicting religious views'... then we could rip them openly without them going back and saying 'oh it was cuz of the graphic nature of the animals being hunted...'

Ok..I wanted to wait a bit to post until the neo-athiest/islamic sympathizers finally popped their load from the circle jerk going on in this thread...Finished?...Ok..Yes Nova is the shit and the Darwin show was outstanding.

Since you came in too late, there's no one left to jerk you off... oh well guess you'll just be playing with yourself now :P
