Canadian players make up 55% of the league (source) and Canadian teams make up 0% of Stanley Cup Winners since 1993-1994.
Carolina has won a Stanley Cup more recently than the Canadiens, Leafs or Flames. Have the Canucks ever won?
And my favorite part about the NY Rangers 93-94 Stanley Cup win to break the "drought" was that they basically repieced together the 80's Edmonton Oilers - betting that Gretzky, Messier, Esa Tikkenen, Kevin Lowe, Glenn Anderson, Adam Graves, MacTavish et al - even facing retirement- were still as good as they once were together.

Meh. I'm not actually from Philly. I'm a born-and-raised Jersey girl (who happens to be a Redskins & Rangers fan). I hate the Eagles & Flyers. The Phillies have warmed to me, but only because they are full of class-act, stand-up guys (at least compared to most professional athletes) it's really hard not to like them.
I wonder what Uberaffiliate and other Buffalo-ites think about losing their football team to Toronto soon?
I was kind of happy about it. In North Jersey in the mid-90's, the neighborhood was solidly divided between Rangers fans and Devils fans with their new-fangled expansion team. I was a kid, I sided with the Rangers, they won the cup first (though the Devils went on to win it about a hundred more times, it seems), Messier and Gretzky were like gods up there.
Come to think of it, they still are.
But that doesn't change the fact that the Rangers upper management absolutely ripped off the Edmonton Oiler's all-star 80's team.

As for Nfl coming here…. I was at the buffalo game in Toronto, and I was either really drunk or there wasn’t really that many people there. Not sure if it’s going to happen . Would be nice though.

Anyone can TRY to buy a winning team... I believe the Rangers are a good example of that in the years that followed.
