I just came back from a very, very strenuous workout at the gym. It lastes 1.5 hours but DAMN. I sprinted roughly .5-.75 miles (full speed, divided into about 3 sessions). Did a shitload of chest exercises, stared intensely at the mirror and generally put some mother fucking weight up (I only bench 190 tops). Now I came back and 2 hours later my stomach still fucking hurts. I have no idea why. I don't feel the least bit hungry either. Any workout-aholics here have a quick remedy and suggestion?

I'm trying to get in shape for the summer.

Did you fuel up with anything before deciding to kick your own ass? Enough water (hydration is a big deal).

Get you some protein and fuel on that before working out and again after, assuming your stomach can handle it. Avoid greasy foods etc until well after you are done.

In time this will go away

it'll happen like that for the first week or so - i've been seeing a trainer 3 times a week for the past few weeks who is kicking the shit out of me.

i always eat over an hour before i go so i don't ACTUALLY barf - and then it's just lean protein, complex carbs and veg. when i get back i pound a protein shake + glutamine then load up on come cottage cheese and fruit about an hour later.

i find NO-Xplode is really good pre-workout - i mix one up in my water bottle and drink it while i'm warming up. Then i'm good to go on weights for the next hour or so.

my trainer gets me to do lots of weights with interval cardio in between - like chest + triceps with 3-4 5 min interval sprints between sets. been only a few weeks and i'm noticing a huge difference.

If you push it too hard from the get go when you're starting out, or get way too over-heated it's pretty natural to get sick to your stomach. I'd call it quits for the day, it's not going to get any better any time soon.

Remember to stay hydrated.

drink some chocolate milk to avoid getting sore. if you haven't worked out in a while you will be a wreck in about 6 hours.

Played basketball in high school, the coach would sit several buckets out around the court. We basically ran and did various running drills until we puked. Even the really good long distance runners who were in cross country puked. Those were the days.

I find a bannana after the workout helps calm the stomach down.

Also the other post about the cardio is right, straight up sprints are not the greatest. Try HIITS.

It's a high intensity interval workout, sprint for 2 minutes rest for 1 and than sprint again. Rinse and repeat for 15 minutes or however long it takes to hit the wall, when I started I could only do this for 5 minutes, so don't be surprised if you dont hit 15 mintues right away
