Yup, ebay.. paid $280 USD..
...and thats not even bad.. keep in mind i have the ACTUAL KEY in the e-mail from blizzard. It's not a BLIZZCON scratch key.. you have to wait for those or something. Most of these are going for $400+

Yeah but you get the polar bear mount in wow too. Which actually if you bought that and just held onto the mount for another year or two you'd get all your cash back.
I don't have the slightest clue what the Polar bear mount even is.. although it was all over the ads of the ones being sold so people must want it.. i am the kinda person that when I buy something, I want that shit now, not 2 weeks later (maybe).
Yeah its a rare mount if you play wow

Exactly. One of 2 things happen - you waste time and money (likely) - or strike oil (much less likely, but possible).
Meh the economy of Wow is pretty stable and follows regular market patterns that won't be disrupted till at least when the star wars mmo comes out in probably 2012.
I'm thinking of buying a key as well (direct, not the shitty Blizzcon card), but I'm hesitant as I know that I will probably waste the next month or so playing nonstop.
In any case, a crack for the beta was released today that allows you to play solo. You won't be able to play against anyone, or even the AI for that matter, but you can start a game and create units/checkout the gameplay/whatever. Here's how to get it going...

- Download the torrent for the client and install it on your C drive: Starcraft 2 Beta Client US Build 13891 (download torrent) - TPB
- Download the torrent for the crack and extract it: SC2 Beta - Offline Sandbox [FIXED ZIP] (download torrent) - TPB
- Download a Starcraft II map: StarCraft 2 | Nibbits
- Go to your program files, open the Starcraft II folder, open the Battle.net folder, and create a folder called "Cache". In the Cache folder, create another folder named after the first two digits of the filename of the map you downloaded. In that folder, create a folder named after the third and forth digits of the filename of the map you downloaded. Place the downloaded map in this folder. If you downloaded the Lost Temple map (filename "939af36920bfbb04566fcc1f894a15404fba8e93a33ca4b52782078d65968e70.s2ma"), the file path would look something like this: C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\Battle.net\Cache\93\9a\939af36920bfbb04566fcc1f894a15404fba8e93a33ca4b52782078d65968e70.s2ma
- Open the "lazylaunch" program that you extracted from the compressed crack. When prompted, open the map you downloaded from the location you just placed it in. The game will open, load, and bring you to a "Victory!" screen. Click "Return to game" and you will be able to fuck around with whatever random race came up.
