This is excellent news. Now there is no reason not to get a Mac, except for the mouse acceleration blows.

Valve’s Big Fat Hint: Steam For Macs? | Rock, Paper, Shotgun

And for those of you who don't care, here is a trailer for Halo: Reach Beta, which is going to be the best Console FPS released yet.

Oh awesome another boring halo game I really don't understand halo fanboys its like they just got sent forward in time from 1992 and see halo and think it's the most amazing thing ever.

Halo multiplayer is the best all-around test of FPS skill available right now. I used to hate Halo, until my friend taught me some valuable tips. Now I use it as a great stress reliever.

Hopefully, however, Halo: Reach will fix the graphic quality that Halo 3 and ODST lacked. Stupid move for Bungie to say "forget about graphics quality, let's focus on the shadows and lighting aspect".

Because the Halo series is the best console fps that's been released?

And yeah, you'll probably get the source collection.

Halo sucks as a FPS. Its slow, the selection of weapons blows, and they keep releasing new titles with the same old shit. ODST was mildly amusing for about 15 minutes, then it was the same old Halo suckiness.

I own a windows7 laptop, desktop and a brand new mac book.

and srsly: If u wanna make monies, use Windows. If you want something for on the go, take the macbook. unless ur a graphic slave or webdesigner, mac is worth shit

From a monetary standpoint, it's logical. You're tapping a fairly unreached market. Sure there is WINE and some made for mac games, but the selection sucks. It's logical and I'm surprised it took this long. Every time I see a Mac Vs. Windows debate the subject of gaming always comes up. You're talking about 20 million people (I think), and how many of them would take advantage of this? Hell, if it's only 5% you're still looking at 1 million people buying your shit. 1,000,000*59.99*3 games (just an est) = $$$$$$

Funny how I read that right as I'm using the library's mac. Dear God its horrible. Mouse so slow, everything so handicapped. I dont know where to look for what. The fonts are retarded. This mini keyboard is pretty good though.

All the PC's were taken.

the thing with macs is you can't use them for 20 minutes and be a convert - you buy one, get to know it, and THEN you realize how much better they are.

This is truth.

And to the guy talking about games for Mac, I torrented a Cider Port of Need For Speed: Most Wanted last year for gaming fun (use it maybe once a month, but it serves its purpose), and have yet to have any issues dealing with it.

I also downloaded Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but when it was fully installed and set up, it got to the loading screen and froze, so I had to exit out of it and try again. And again, and again. Looked to see if it was a bug that was fixable, but it turns out it was the version I downloaded, so I promptly removed it and deemed it a lost cause.

Talking about Halo and gaming on OSX together, I have also downloaded Halo: Combat Evolved for Mac. It worked perfectly, flawlessly, with almost no overclocking, and it didn't max out the fan speed (MenuMeters for the win) as Most Wanted did. 4400 RPM compared to 6500.

Nah. The weapon selection is standard, and the map designs are good. Also, sticky grenades. Nothing more satisfying than stickying someone from across the map.

On a console, you have to slow fpses down a bit compared to on a PC. Halo has the pacing perfect for a console. You don't really die in 2.5 seconds, but at the same time, it's not artificially casual (I'm looking at you MW2).

Halo 3 was a little shittier compared to 2, but as you can see in the video(s), Reach is going to be closer to the first Halo, with the tightness of Halo 2.

Half Life 2 is still the greatest game ever made. Followed closely by the legend of zelda ocarina of time.

Because paying a massive premium for a nifty aluminum case is a great idea. Unless you need fucking final cut or some type of heavy graphic/video editing shit there is no point in buying a mac.

Overpriced, locked down, crippled bullshit product. Fuck Apple and their yuppie bullshit.

Half Life 2 is so overrated. You're a "scientist" and the only thing remotely close to scientific that you do is push a cart into a laser beam. Not to mention the random load screens, and terrible first person driving. Oh, and putting in equally terrible physics puzzles just to show off your engine. Yeahhhhhh.

Episode 3 is going to even worse. Physics puzzles with the portal gun.
