I feed bad for this dude! (GoArticles Killed Him)

Lots of benefits and detriments to using parasite hosting like that. Pretty common to get your stuff deleted. All just part of the game of blackhat seo.

You're saying Google takes into account how many views an article has? If that comes from clicks on the search results, isn't that putting the cart before the horse?

Otherwise you'd have to be saying that google is customized to look at view count for certain article directories, which seems doubtful.

No shit, It has that many views because it's been number #1 for the keyword for 2+ years now. But It has no other pages linking to it and when it first got ranked it had like 2 views.

It's not a product keyword either. Not like something new came out and this guy got his article out first. It's a "how to" keyword that has been around since the start of the interwebz. Ezine approves countless articles a day in this niche and a lot of them try to rank for the same keyword and no one can knock this article off.

It's clearly luck because the guys linking to one of the worst landing pages I've ever seen. He's just some noob from warrior forum who wrote an article on the most competitive term in the niche and somehow that shit went straight to #1 and hasn't left it since.

If someone has an explanation for it that would be great. lol

It would be the same thing as them factoring in CTR and bounce rate. It's all measures of how popular it is with the searcher.

That dude's a full time article spammer. That same goarticles account ranked page 1 for netflix, omaha steaks, acne, and a bunch more big search terms. He lives in india and posted here a while back under the name of SEOVishna or something like that.

Interesting. Did you ever talk with your competitors? Like friendly trash talk? Or worse? I think it'd be funny to e-mail them from a yahoo address and be like "Gotcha this week" after bumping over them.

Was xrumer your friend too?

No, I never bothered. And no- no xrumer. Just a great domain, great timing, well written content, little social bookmarking and luck.
