For everyone here with ADD...

ADD is 90% a fake disease. I seriously think 90% of all that shit is just parents feeding their kids bullshit. Lucky charms, pizza, soda, koolaid, etc etc... shitty diets = little bastards who can't stay focused.

Completely agree. I can't concentrate on much, but I don't blame it on ADD. I blame it on the fact that I'm usually either 4 cups of coffee deep, or I'm just not interested in what I'm doing. If you're deeply interested in what you're doing, then you'll concentrate. The fact is that most kids don't give a shit about what goes on in school, and it's easy to blame disinterest on ADD.

Have you ever raised a kid diagnosed with ADD or ADHD? If not, then you have no clue what you are talking about. The difference between an unmedicated child with ADHD vs. a normal child over the course of a week would blow your mind. Plus, unmedicated kids with it tend to be more violent due to many factors, including being frustrated because they can't focus or communicate the way they need.

Also, if your child truly has ADD or ADHD and you medicate them, they won't be a zombie. My 5 yr old is off the wall without his meds but when he is on them, he can focus and listen but still is a crazy nutball. He just knows how to refocus himself and listen instead of not being able to.

I had the same sort of perception as you until my children were born. I have a 5 yr old son who is ADHD and a 4 yr daughter who is severely autistic and ADHD, so I have first hand experience with this and it has changed my mind on mental disorders in children.

Watching the video now and liking it already.

What Affiliati is saying is that you should consider treating the cause and not the effect. There's a lot of well-known studies that I'm sure you've read regarding diet and ADD/ADHD.

One important thing is the Omega-3:Omega-6 fatty ratio. A 1:1 through 1:4 ratio is natural, but most Americans get 1:20 through 1:30. NOT GOOD for many things, including brain function.

Would be interested to see your children's diet.

My son eats what we eat, which is fish, chicken and meats all cooked at home. We rarely eat out and he loves vegetables. He eats green beans, apples and tons of other fruit for snacks. He doesn't really like sugar and he gets tons of exercise, as he has already been on t-ball, wrestling and soccer teams. He does like to eat fries if we do go out.

If you know anything about autism, you know that they are extremely picky. She eats chicken, pancakes, eggs, fries, raviolis, granola bars and hot dogs. Plus, she gets a special soy milk with all her nutrients in it for the day because of how picky she is.

She goes to an autism only school in the morning and a pre-school for disabled children in the afternoon. She shes a psychiatrist every week and has a behavior specialist who monitors her as well. Also, she goes to occupational and speech therapy once a week.

You wouldn't last a day in my shoes you piece of shit.

You REALLY need to do some more research on this. The Psychiatrist is not going to help much other than pushing pills, however the behavior specialists are proven to be effective at treating the symptoms but not the cause. See a nutritionist, and do some research on natural medicine doctors. You'll find one that can help.

The guy who runs shit here: Aviva - Natural Health Food Store - Vitamins & Supplements Online knows his shit, send him an e-mail.

Thanks for the link. We did actually have a nutrionist up until her 3rd birthday (she transtions to a different program at that age) and we are looking into another one actually on the recommendation of our psychiatrist. The psychiatrist is around because she goes into violent rages out of nowhere, hitting us and herself. He is an autism only one and is treating both autism and ADHD symptoms, so it can be difficult to figure out which is showing.

I have done a lot of research on this subject and so has my wife. There are so many contradicting reports out there about the medicine that ultimately, we tried the medicine and it worked. It didn't change their personality at all. I have also tried some calming medicines from our natural food store, including lavender and a combo of wood betony, chamomile flowers, valerian root, fennel seed, jops strobiles and catrip herb (typing from the bottle) with no results as well.

In regards to diet, we have gone 3 months on a glutin and casein-free diet and we didn't see any results in either our daughter or our son. Our diet now isn't perfect but it sure is better then most since we cook our own meals fresh.

No one will understand the things we have tried to help our children out in these situations and until you have to experience it first hand, you really don't know how you will react. Like I said before, I was skeptical about ADHD and even autism until my children were born. But now that I see it every day, it has changed my mind totally.

My wife's day consists of running my daughter around to take her to special schools and professionals and the improvement we have seen is amazing. She is just starting to talk at 4 and is still like a baby talking at first. But she is extremely smart as well, and can match over 100 pictures with words consistently plus many other advanced things.

Anyways, the debate abot ADHD is just like politics and religion. Everyone has their own viewpoint of whether medicine or natural is better or works and people won't change their mind. I am just posting my experience with it first hand and how I see it every day.

I'm sure there are valid cases, which is why I stated 90%. You seem to be doing all the right things, best of luck to ya
