Laptop Recommendations..

MBP's have the best trackpad I've ever used on a laptop. Ever.

With that said on the windows side, I'd go with HP Envy, or Sony Viao
 


I have a 17" HP as a desktop replacement and it's done really well for me, especially considering how much shit I have running on it.

However I'm probably going to get a smaller laptop this weekend for everyday traveling since my current laptop stays put most of the time.
 
it's doable if you are mobile, but I got dual 24's at home and would not do anything less.

If you like a 17" screen laptop then by all means go for the 17". Battery life on the new ones is like 8+ hours too.
 
I was looking through all of the laptop configurations... does anybody have any experience with Alienware?

I built a $3,000 m15x and a $3,000 HP Envy, and the m15x was better equipped (stronger processor and a SSD HD). The Envy weighs less and has a slightly stronger battery life so I'd probably need to try both of them before making a decision.

I'm familiar with HP (that is what my current laptop is), but I've never owned an Alienware so I'm curious as to what people's experiences with them are.
 
I just purchased the Lenovo Y500P for $900: Newegg.com - lenovo IdeaPad Y550P(324156U) NoteBook Intel Core i7 720QM(1.60GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M It's an insane gaming laptop, runs everything I want on all High (From Modern Warfare 2 to GTA IV to Crysis) with no problems. I have absolutely no complaints against it, except that it comes loaded with a shitton of bloatware. Still, every laptop does these days, so I guess that really can't be a legitimate complaint :P I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you check this laptop out. Best buy I've had in a while. -t
 
not sure if id be kicking myself if i bought a 15.6" .... looking at my girls right now and its def better than my 14" but i just don't know .. 17 just seems like it would be perfect ... jsut a pita to tote around .. but i'll already have my 14"

can't a moniter only support the highest resolution the computer it comes from has? i plan on getting a 23 or 24 1080p moniter...

and i'd never get a toshiba .. i hate everthing about those computers
 
Lenovo thinkpad or asus business class laptop. You can pay the premium for a MBP if looks is that important.
 
why anyone would ever buy a 17" laptop i will never understand. personally i think they are retarded.
