People disappear every day.

I'm thinking I'd pull a DB Sweeney; small aircraft, bailout on the Canadian border hop on a boat heading for Asia since most of them are.

I'd run to Dubai, but... I'd just drive north to Stewart Intl Airport and leave from there to Quebec, then from Quebec to Dubai, UAE.

this is kind of an easy one...

Buy ticket ahead of time.
Park car in Times Square.
Take a taxi to the airport.
Leave before or immediately after the fucking things explodes.

They barely got the guy and that was 53 hours after they found the damn bomb. While I am not a big conspiracy theorist kind of guy, I have to think that someone who managed to get a fucking MBA from a school other than Phoenix Online would have been smart enough to figure out a better way to go about this and would have pulled it off. Does that seem odd to anyone else?
If he really went to a camp in Waziristan you think he would have learned how to wire up something that is a little more complex than what he did (the ultimate HURR DURR of a bomb). In a matter of minutes I can think of several ways in which that kind of plan could have been executed in a way which would have allowed the guy to accomplish his objective and leave the country and be in northern Pakistan by the time anyone knew who they were even supposed to be looking for. That's what really scares me about all this stuff...it wouldnt be that hard to pull off a stunt like this if someone with half a brain was running the operation.

Yeah these guys have been incredibly stupid with their post 9-11 attempts. I'm inclined to believe that something else is going on here.
 
Dubai doesn't have an extradition treaty with the United States of America. Therefore, if I ran to Dubai I can still do the IM and live the high life without having to live in a third world nation.
 
I'm more concerned that the suicide bombers aren't blowing themselves up any longer. Mind you it makes sense - but it does increase the amount of people willing to do nasty crap if they don't have to go boom too.

You're right, we need to convince them that if you want things to go boom right you're going to have to do it yourself.

This is simply a thought exercise. I'm sure everyone here would rather kill people with sketchy diet supplements than bombs.
 
This is something that I try not to think about but doesnt this really worry anyone else? I would love to think its because the CIA and NSA are actually just that fucking badass and they stop a ton of plots before they even get a chance to develop but if someone as pathetically inept as the shithead who attempted to kill civilians and tourists can nearly get away with it....suffice to say I'm worried.
