Bad company 2 was the last game I had on my PC. I had to uninstall it three times before it stuck, but it's been a month or two now and it(the game or gaming) doesn't even come to mind anymore.
I've had to convince myself that games are basically evil, brain wasting, time devouring monsters... and I've gamed all my life since Tandy PC's with 66mhz/2mb ram, if I can quit in an effort to be more productive so can anyone.
I always loved this following quote,
"Wealth is not in making money, but in making the man while he is making the money."
You are not a millionaire/billionaire right now because you aren't who you need to be to become one. Ask yourself, What is it about yourself that you need to re-evaluate to become who you want to become, to get where you need to go?
No, quitting games won't make you all the money in the world but it's sure as hell a crucial first step if you're doing 10 hour sessions several times a week. What has all those late night sessions, no matter how much fun you had, ever given you in real world? More money? no. Spiritual development? no. Women? no. Fulfilment? no. My answer to this question is 'absolutely fuck all'.
Taking those previously used low energy/intensity hours and allocating them to productive/development time is a whole other story. We are creates of habit on a deeply unconscious levels, your body will resist, you'll be tempted by mundane things, but press on - you are a simple mammal which will die in 60-80 years.
Want to lay on your deathbed remembering all those cool kill streaks you did in call of duty, or reminisce that you laid down your own path when you had the opportunity to do so?
