Thoughts on the series? That game winning goal was pretty shitty...in the sense that no one knew what the hell was going on so it was awkward for a good 30 seconds lol

Pretty sloppy series but entertaining nonetheless. There were some good battles going on and some awesome hits. The goalies were all over the place though.

Die-hard Flyers fan here. The Flyers played a great series, but got outplayed in a few of the games. Leighton was our downfall. Every game he let up multiple shitty goals, and I think if we had a solid goalie we would have won the series in 5 or 6. Hartnell was a boss with some of his hits

as a flyers fan, they were lucky to get as far as they did but put on a hell of a show in the last regular season game and the playoffs. They came out very soft in away games against chicago and got their asses kicked. That gave them absolutely no breathing room at home and they paid for it. I won't forget being at a phils game the other day and hearing nothing but "Lets Go Flyers". Give it a week, it'll be back to a baseball/football town.

I disagree leighton performed decently imo, but there were some games where defense was lacking. Pronger came up soft and the rest of D could not clear the puck. I'm no hockey coach but if they are peppering the goalie with 5-10 rapid fire shots within a minute, one is bound to go in. But thats not leightons fault, bouche would of suffered a similar fate

I love the way Hartnell plays...he was a beast in this game. As for Leighton what did you expect, he played to the best of his ability but he's no superstar.

You can go on and on about goalies - if the Leafs had a Miller they'd be in the playoffs too instead of 29th. Takes a team to win. Montreal had no business getting so far it was all Halak but in the end they couldn't do it as a team.

And Niemi is no superstar either, Philly didn't capitalize on all those juicy rebounds.

Hawks had 41 shots on goal in game 6 and only shot 24 times, Leighton was not your downfall :) He wasnt the most consistent goalie, but in Game 6 he certainly did his job.

sure he had his good saves, but some of those goals are expected to be saved by any goalie. the one was the speed of a pass. one thing to note when watching the games is that chicago has a shoot on net and see what happens offense, and we have a setup a banging goal offense, so they may have more shots, but ours are quality

Isn't there something about he didn't play enough regular season games to get his name on the cup? That's shitty IMO. He was the star of the series.

if you play in a game during the finals your name goes on the cup...and the team can petition for your name if you didn't play in the finals or enough games...

and niemi is terrible...always out of position, leaves horrible rebounds....but what do I know...I'm just a goalie coach.

Yeah, Leighton had a few shaky moments but was pretty solid overall. And you can't say he hasn't paid his dues.

Philly's downfall was shitty karma from guys like Pronger the Puck Robber, King Douchebag Laviolette, and of course from some guys just not showing up for the dance.

I am happy for Chicago :)

You sound like you know your hockey, I am going off random snips of sports center info.

being a goalie... i agree with that, but he makes up for being out of position with some sick saves. sure if he was in position it would be an easy save, but that just isnt as awesome. and you are 100% right about rebounds. lots of our goals were off rebounds. i still think hes a boss

Phily got lucky that Montreal somehow eliminated Capitals and Penguins.
They had no businees beeing in finals.
Congrats Chicago ! Michael Jordan MVP
