I have been trying to quit smoking for forever it seems. Started with the Camel snus at the convenience store, which worked for awhile. Started taliking to a friend about it and he started getting the real Swedish stuff. I gotta say it is way better. Gives me the nicotine I grave but still have the urge for the lung fill a cig gives. Anybody else tried it?

Fuck no. Tobacco in my mouth makes me physically nauseous. Up my nose, however, it's great! If you're sick of smoking, but still want the 'tine-buzz, order some snuff online or at your local tobacconist. Shit'll blow your mind out the back of your skull and make your snot shit brown. I think it's pretty neat.

I just started reading a book called "Easy Way to Quit Smoking" by Allen Carr, and I have to say it is really opening my mind as to what cigs really are.

Worst part of the trap is how much $$$ the tobacco company gets from us

Don't think about it like that. That's silly. A self-loathing smoker is the worst kind. Every time I've ever really wanted to quit smoking, going cold turkey for a month or two, long enough to break the physical addiction, isn't hard. But I always come back to the cheery little death-sticks eventually because, fuck it, I like smoking cigarettes.

I'm on the same boat as you. I smoked for 15 years or so and it's working better than anything I tried before as a crutch to quit. I get the general brand. I still smoke but down from a pack and a half to about a pack every 4 -5 days and sometimes go days without lighting up. the problem is it becomes addictive itself so it's good to quit smoking, but not to quit nicotine. The Swedish boast it's relative safety though, due to low cancer numbers over there, the only country in europe where snus is legal I think. bottom line it's safer than cigs and cheaper than nicotine gum.

I see what youre saying. I've never been able to quit for 1 month at a time because I always bitch out after a couple of days hahaha.

I definitely enjoy smoking, probably a little too much, but I always thought I'd be able to quit if I chose to. My first cross with addiction I guess

I'm the same exact way. I've been able to quit for 2-6 months several times, but I always end up smoking a random cig or two eventually when I'm drinking or end up with some old friends I haven't seen in a while. My biggest weakness is definitely smoking while driving. I love to smoke a cig with some good music and just drive. The physical addiction really isn't the worst part for me. As dumb as that sounds, I really just like to smoke a cig cause its somethign to do and I just plain enjoy smoking.

I smoked for 17 years, 2-3 packs a day. Read Allen Car's book TheEasyWayorsomething... quit that night and never wanted to smoke again. That was April, 21 2006.

I smoke cigs but putting tobacco in your mouth is f'n gross

You're totally right. Inhaling it THROUGH your mouth and INTO your lungs where a small percentage of each inhale sticks to your lungs like tar isn't fucking gross at all.

I've been smoking for 7 years, 1 pack a day, trying to quit. But I just can't stop the craving.

Smoked for 7 years. Last 2 years 3.5 packs per day average. A carton would not get me through 3 days. Tried several times to quit didn't take, totally addicted. Finally started running. The deal with myself was after I ran if I still wanted to light up I could but only after a run. No matter where I was, a meeting, restaurant, etc. I would excuse myself and go run in the parking lot with wing tips on if necessary. When you smoke that much it only takes a couple of mins before you are winded. You can't smoke while running and right after you don't feel like one (at least I didn't) this broke the cycle. Eventually it would take longer to run in order to be winded. Finished my first marathon about a year later and triathlon the next year. Haven't smoked one since (about 5 years) Hardest thing I've ever done was to lay down those smokes, loved every single one of them. Can't imagine how much money 3 plus packs per day would run now.

I tried Snus back before I quit chew entirely. It wasn't bad, but not near the nicotine of Skoal or Cope. For those of you who don't know, you don't snort Snus it, it's just pouch dip, so it's not as messy and you don't spit nearly as much. Didn't do much for me.

I've never smoked cigarettes, but getting off dip was bad. I'll smoke a cigar now and then, but I'm happy to not be hooked on that shit anymore.
