After jumping into Nog's guard and smashing the shit out of him so many times, I guess he thought he could pull the same tactic with Werdum and be alright. He did pull out of the first armbar attempt without much trouble and I suppose he thought he could overwhelm him with GNP. Unfortunately, the knockdown wasn't as disorienting as he may have thought it was. Jumping into the guard of a dude with the BJJ pedigree that Werdum has is NEVER a good idea unless he's completely unaware of where he is.

Anyone can make an error, and after 10 years of being virtually untouched, it had to happen eventually. Nobody is invincible.

I'm a huge Fedor fan, last night was pretty rough.

Anyway, it's not like he got dominated or lost in some embarrassing way. He knocked Werdum down and followed him to finish but ended up in the guard of arguably the best BJJ specialist in the weight class. Fedor's got nothing to be ashamed of.

As for Coker, he's hit and miss.
